THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah mine haven't rusted off but it's starting, and I accidentally put a pair of pliers through my DS rocker panel just now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

how do you put pliers through sheet metal?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you could do it with mine... but that's a different story.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Damnit, redrilling the U-bolt plate is OK, right? I just went to install the 9" I got from Billy and it seems the 8.25 uses 3" u-bolts, but the 9" uses something a bit smaller... still trying to find the exact measurement for the 9" u-bolts though...

Edit: Jeep XJ on trucks.

And I feel like my lift sagged alot on the way to the UJ party :dunno: Beforing going to the party I feel like my rig was about 6' tall when I was cleaning off the snow... it was about as tall as me. Now it's clearly alot lower. Hopefully didn't break anything

What's the stock measurement from ground to rocker?

measure the diameter of the axle tube, that will tell you the dia you need... i just googled it. it's 3". just bend the u bolt out a little bit.

What's 3"? I know the 8.25 is 3", but the torino 9" seems smaller. Actually I know for a fact it's smaller.

The circumference of the 8.25 tube is 9 8/5" = just about a 3" diameter.

The circumference of the 9" tube is approx 8 7/8" = 2.82" diameter (about 2 13/16")

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mmm i just slept somewhere around 12 hours, and it was amazing. i definitely have a bit of a fever so i need to chill to be ready for wheeling tomorroww

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmmm, just took measurements and it seems like the rear is still sitting at 3.75" lift or so and the front is down to 3". Interesting. Why does it look so much lower compared to the last time I had it in the garage? :dunno:

Edit: And that is with only like 1/4 tank of gas, so that could explain the rear being at 3.75"

No, your a guy and you live alone. Its only when the ladies and family come along that you need to become domesticated, otherwise do whatever the hell you want while you can.

Shiiiiiiiit
My tranny exploded on 90. I no longer have third gear most of the time. First still works.

Jeff: not gonna make it to crown... Oop

Looks like I'm out for wheeling, too. Might get there somehow and hang out but I'm probably going to be swapping a tranny tomorrow.

Damn man, that sucks. If you are not swapping the tranny and want to go hang out, lmk. I can swing by and give ya a ride (if I end up going either). If you are swapping a tranny and need a hand, lmk, I can swing by.

So yeah, I was right, I need 2 13/16" ubolts. not 3". Damn, well at least I know what I need now, Just no one carries a 1/2"x2 13/16"x8" ubolt. Off to call the spring shop. Preparing to be paying far too much

Edit: SON-OF-A... spring shop must be closed today :( Looks like I get to put off the axle for another week. Oh well, more body work it is.

I'll just wait and buy local. I got other work to do. Don't feel like driving to NH for u-bolts  Maybe I will drive by the local place, see if they were just away from the phone.

I really thing the president of the country shouldn't be allowed to support and campaign for a states senator/rep. That should be the states decision and the president should stay the f*** out of it. The way I see it: The senators are represented on the world level by the president, so it's oK for them to campaign for who they think will do best to represent our country. The states are represented at national level by who we elect for senator/rep, so we can choose/campaign for who we think is best. The president is not represented by the senators of any individual state so he should have no say/influence on who gets elected at state level.

And I love how my town has signs up everywhere supporting Scott Brown.
