THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm GOING! I don't care if I have to steal my roommates bike to get there.

Bob - thinking more and more I might roll rt9, I need to get used to how this thing handles on new 33s with the alignment before I start doing 80, I'm still used to like 1"+ toe in and bald 32s.

Rob - not sure, sams charges 20 for a pair of coils so probably like 40 for a pair of leafs, not sure about everett's

Will do!

Passing out now... Gonna be a hell of a day tomorrow getting everything ready. As it stands right now I can't leave my driveway without losing sheetmetal, tire bits, and everything else :roflmao:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Speaking of getting ready tomorrow... I need to(list more for me than anyone else :laugh3:)

-swap in my "new" rear driveshaft from Anthony
-go through my crap and replenish spare fluids etc
-check steering, tighten bolts etc
-grease everything(TREs CTMs shackles Clayton blah blah)
-break out my new ratchet straps and get everything in the Jeep tied down again
-buy a big gas can and fill 'er up because I have no idea how much gas is in the Jeep (I really gotta fix that damn gauge :twak:)
-reattach passenger side bushwacker flare and try to fix the PS front turn signal/marker lights, seeing as I'll be driving 2 hours through MA each way :(
-don't spend unnecessary money in anticipation of "traffic violations" from staties who don't think the Jeep is cool
-reattach windshield rearview mirror

somebody that has a stock rear d-shaft from a 5 speed should bring it and give to me at the run:D
IF I go, I can probably let you borrow one if its one of those temporary things... but I will need it back at the end of the day.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think that I will be making driveshafts out of square tubing. Probably making 2 or 3 sets just for spares. I mean pick up bent DS's for next to nothing (JY prolly will let them go for nothing since they forklift the cars around and told me the DS's get bent often... I will just pick up the bent ones for cheap asdirt). Then I will swap out the stock DSs for the squares when I am on the trail and always have a good one to drive home

I'm going to use pipe. If you dont need the massive slip a square drive shaft gets you pipe is a better(still redneck) way of getting a beefier and/or longer driveshaft. Making yokes fit a square tube will probably be a PITA and you can get pipe at home depot that will hold up to a decent beating.

If you search for Frosty's build on NEOW it's what he did.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh i will BE there on Sunday. Sorry ross the old stock driveshaft was still kicking around in the bed of the truck when i sold it so it's gone.

and i'm getting sick so my plans for tomorrow are just SLEEEEEP, and maybe crawl under the Jeep and give it a good once over and grease all the fittings.

Either I suck at google searching or I don't know the best way to get on NEOW and find it. :dunno: I will search again tomorrow if I remember to do so.

Maybe pipe would be easier but depending on how it was done I think square would be just as easy, particularly for a trail only application... I may be very wrong though :D

Edit: Yeah, pic 2 is nice. I think I have decided that I need to show up this sunday just to see half of y'alls rigs so I know what the hell you are talking about in these threads when you refer to different Jeeps  Though I have to say my latest pic looks cleaner than your 2nd pic :D And I mean cleaner in a literal sense :D
