THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what the FU(K. so, I turned 21 on January 6th. That's dandy. Online on the RMV's site I read that it's recommended that you go to the RMV "at least" 7 days BEFORE your license expires to give them ample time to do everything. That's fine, makes sense I guess. So I went on December 30th, and renewed it. In the meantime I got a HORIZONTAL temporary license, and the lady at the RMV was helpful and (as always) glad to take my money...without any warning of this -->> I just got the new license in the mail today... and it's a "Under 21", vertical license. All the info is correct on it however. How in the hell!!?? So, I called and waited on hold for almost 30 minutes to finally explain this to some dumb bitch who told me "Oh, well when you're turning 21 you need to go to the RMV on your birthday. If you renew it beforehand you'll be given another Under 21 license. If you want to get your new license fixed you'll need to pay the $25 fee and wait another 5-7 business days for us to mail it to you." As if I was just somehow supposed to KNOW this, and as if they weren't able to figure out if I'm renewing my license within a week of it expiring and I'm turning 21, I NEED A 21 AND OVER CARD. Jesus Christmas. Also, the license expires on the birthday... They seriously expect every person who's turning 21 to go in on THAT day to renew it?

that happened to alot of people i know and nobody has ever once made as big of a deal out of it as you just did. it doesnt matter which direction it faces

i went 2 weeks after i turned 21 :greensmok

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just annoying, not the end of the world hah. I was mostly pissed at first because I HATE going to the RMV. I'm glad I at least got it fixed over the phone.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got lucky and never had to deal with the vertical license under 21 thing. Jersey is the same way now. But when I first got my license we were still using the old non digital IDs and everything was horizontal. And you're lucky you could understand them over the phone. I can't even understand them when I'm at the DMV.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ahaha this RETARDED kid i know is 24 with a horizontal under 21 license, explains how he got it. He said he dont know why its like that.

i went the day of my birthday.
I got my under-21 vertical license in 05, when I was 19, it expires on my birthday this year, everyone I knew was confused when I said my license didn't expire on my 21st birthday.

that bites travis, but the same thing happened to my girlfriend. she's just been dealing with it. i went on my 21st bday too...

what do you do if your bday falls on a sunday?
I was wondering this, fortunately my birthday is a Monday this year. It's a Sunday in 2015, but I hope I'm not living in this state by then :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Same license thing happened to me and I went the day before my 21st. For some reason I actually asked if I would get an under or over 21 license. I was explicitly told and reassured that I would get an over 21 license. Then I didn't and was told I had to pay 25$. I just dealt with it until I got my motorcycle endorsement added to the license and was issued a new card.

One thing to be cautious of... when I talked to the DMV after getting my under-21 vertical card, they said I could pay and get a duplicate, or deal with it. If you get a duplicate I believe it will say that on there (that it is a dupe). I have heard that some places such as bars don't accept duplicate ID's for some reason. Just letting you know, I would hold onto your vertical one until you know for sure whether or not the new one you are sent will work OK everywhere.

Is that the junk yard right off of rt 24 that you can see when driving north?
Don't think so, according to google maps this one is closer to 140 than 24.

I need a MJ just wayy to much for me only need a cab.. so like take a 0 off that price and I'm all for it then! :D
I am still talking to the guy down in CT about the MJ he has for sale. I hope to be getting pics soon, but apparently the cab/interior are in very nice shape. If I don't end up buying it I will pass the info on to you. He was asking somewhere around $350 but said he would accept less than that if I go to pick it up (will need to be trailered as the steering is f***ed and the alternator is shot).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got my license in 03 when I was 17. My birthday was on a Saturday that year and of course no road testing on Saturdays so when I turned 21 I technically had 2 extra days. Actually if I had done it correctly my license should have expired when I turned 22. I was the first year for the graduated license system and had a provisional license at 17. Should have gotten it changed over when I turned 18 but just let it run out when I turned 21.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Scott, if you don't buy that MJ, I might have to :eyes: $350 is way too good to pass up.

... and I might arrange to have a spare alternator and a spare set of steering hardware (what does it need?) after this Saturday...

There is something I really like about buying a vehicle sold for parts, fixing it in someone's driveway, and driving it home.

Oh, at the new price I have been quoted $350 seems expensive :D

I don't know what it needs. The guy said he would prefer to see it trailered because, well, I guess it's pretty bad? Who knows. Unless the renix 4.0's have a much different alternator or belt routing I can do an alternator in no time at all now, so that should be a quick and easy fix

I have a guy with a truck and trailer that he said I could use to tow it up. Plus it is the same guy that said I could keep it in his driveway. Chances are I am buying it unless it looks like an absolute basket case.

Yes. What's the big deal? Its not like you don't know the date and can't plan for arrangements. I went the morning of my 21st. I can't believe you guys didn't know that, heck I'm pretty sure I must have been told about a 100 times to wait until the day of or after your birthday to get your license renewed otherwise I'd get the vertical.
twhat do you do if your bday falls on a sunday?
Go the next business day and don't drive until you get it renewed. Happened to my brother as he turned 21 on a Saturday.

It isn't bad if you don't live in around a bunch of cities and you don't go at noon.

it's still a valid ID and license, some people care more than others. I was told to go on my bday, so I did... that's pretty much it.

bill, did you see my text?

I think the frustration stems from the fact that the RMV told him to do it before it expired, which is entirely the wrong answer. I really hate it when I get told crap like that.

whats the pros and cons of a waggy 44 rather than a f150 44?
I'd bet junkyard spares will be more commonly available for an f150, but I know diddly squat about axles so that's really all I can come up with. EDIT: oh, unless you are narrowing it anyways...

Things that piss me off: idiots writing web apps. The company I'm trying to apply for a mortgage with hired what must have been the dumbest web dev on the planet. They have all the radio button fields (i.e. you can only choose options they list) set up with automatic validation scripts that won't let you click submit until it gets a valid answer. But ALL THE ANSWERS ARE VALID CHOICES, THEY PUT THEM THERE! The best part? The validation script is broken. It doesn't accept ANY of the options as valid. So I can't click submit at all.

:banghead: stupid web devs :gonnablow

Yes. Assuming it was still a good buy? Depending on what the expansions are they could be nice.

Many many pros and cons to both. It would depend on the year of the F150 D44. Waggy will be a LP, Ford HP.

ahhhh okay i didnt know they were lp, so my best bet would be getting the HP d44 and narrowing it to waggy width, older ford f150s were 5x5.5?
