THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am in my cube working. I want to be in the parking lot working on my Jeep.

:rattle:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone need a toolbox for a truck? Guy gave it to me with my truck but I just don't like the look of it.

You are so gay. :twak:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, save it. When I get a truck someday :D or if my dad ends up with a fullsize truck whenever he decides what he's doing, He'd probably want it if there wasn't one already...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh yeah. My XJ gave me a present this morning...

... my rear wiper no longer functions properly (it stops at random points and I have to cycle the switch to make it continue) and my axle shaft u-joints are squealing when I turn. Guess it's time to learn to change U-joints :dunce: and get out the DMM again.

U-joints are easy. The only "difficult" part about the wheel joints is breaking the hub free... it can be a PITA. If you are ever down this way for everett's again or something you can swing by and change them in the heated garage. Makes life a bit more bearable.

Speaking of junkyards, has anyone been to "self served used auto parts" down in E. Freetown (or Assonet)? I heard they have a pretty good selection and all the vehicles are kept lifted off the ground a bit. I think I might be checking it out this weekend.

I have never tried to get a U-joint out of a front shaft, so I wasn't sure. Glad to know it's easier than getting the hubs out of the knuckles, as I did that on my new axle in about 20min with a breaker bar, a little flame wrench, and some pb blaster... heck, it was sitting on a pair of jackstands, all I needed for leverage was swinging the drag link out. I think I won't be changing the U-joints till I put this axle in my friend's MJ, because the ones in my new axle look pretty good and turn smoothly.

Never been to that junkyard, but I'll probably be heading back to Everett's and/or the pnp next to it this Saturday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the kid i work with got beat up by his dad last night so hes in court this morning
that bites. hope he's ok.

what are the measurements and what is it made of? could i make it work as an in-the-cab-box in my xj or not worth it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just walked over to the other bldg and grabbed those 84 reamers for $75. some were brand new in tubes, others had a slight coat of surface rust on the shank. he said they were all straight fluted before, but there are some that are spiral and others that are expansion. can't complain for the price though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Actually yea I do. what's it off of?

Couldn't tell you. Guy gave it to me when I bought the truck.

I can take measurements for you when I get home at some point.

Looks similar to this one...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what the FU(K. so, I turned 21 on January 6th. That's dandy. Online on the RMV's site I read that it's recommended that you go to the RMV "at least" 7 days BEFORE your license expires to give them ample time to do everything. That's fine, makes sense I guess. So I went on December 30th, and renewed it. In the meantime I got a HORIZONTAL temporary license, and the lady at the RMV was helpful and (as always) glad to take my money...without any warning of this -->> I just got the new license in the mail today... and it's a "Under 21", vertical license. All the info is correct on it however. How in the hell!!?? So, I called and waited on hold for almost 30 minutes to finally explain this to some dumb bitch who told me "Oh, well when you're turning 21 you need to go to the RMV on your birthday. If you renew it beforehand you'll be given another Under 21 license. If you want to get your new license fixed you'll need to pay the $25 fee and wait another 5-7 business days for us to mail it to you." As if I was just somehow supposed to KNOW this, and as if they weren't able to figure out if I'm renewing my license within a week of it expiring and I'm turning 21, I NEED A 21 AND OVER CARD. Jesus Christmas. Also, the license expires on the birthday... They seriously expect every person who's turning 21 to go in on THAT day to renew it?

Long story short I paid the damn $25 but what the hell.

....Glad Dad stocked the fridge downstairs with beer. :D
