THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Will do, I'm almost definitely going. Planning to roll into the yard around 10am, might end up being later
Alright, that's what I figured. once I know when you should be there I can figure out when I need to leave.

i know if i have this beer, the rest will just keep coming. then i will be at the bar.
And the problem is?

Off on the Jeeps maiden voyage! If I Break down somewhere and need assistance, $50 to whoever gets there first and I will buy a couple rounds at the bar  That's only if you get there before AAA does though, which shouldn't be too hard.

Hmmm, I think the first trip should be to the packie. CC&7's tonight I think. Or gin and tonic. Tough choice.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

can you guys check the yard tomorow for any 8 lug ford trucks with ttb, i need srw hubs for my frt 60, and the 8 lug ttb's have 60 outers, thanks

Do we have to actually do something for the $50 or can I just take the money and leave? I suppose it wouldn't be vey hard to get away though, your Jeep wouldn't be working.:shhh:

tell me how to identify a vehicle that would likely have them, and how to tell if a specific vehicle does or does not have them, and what a ttb is, and I will try to remember to (will throw a reminder in my phone) :dunce:

I'm debating taking my XJ out for a joy ride.
DO IT

DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT

oh wait, I think you beat it worse than anyone who stole it would :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

M715's kill all diseases!

In all seriousness, best of luck with your situation.
Thanks. I'm 100% fine at this point, it's my wallet that might not be  We'll see.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ken the ttb is ford stupid have solid axle half ifs suspention they used in the 80's and 90's, the f250s would have it and ares suposid 60 outers

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

word on the street is the ttb 50 junk is close but not the same. the spindle bolts up and works and all, but the back flange doesnt sit into the knuckle as deep. i believe the wheel hubs and wheel bearings and lockouts are the same.

i just need the wheel hub to convert mine to srw, so is it all junk or just the spindle?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sooo I made it back.

Now the fun begins. At this point I'm not sure if I will be in the Jeep at the UJ party, I am hoping to mooch a parents vehicle unless I drive the Jeep for a while tomorrow and feel comfortable that the fuel pump wont die.

So the problems I have found (so far).

  • Strange electrical gremlin (F me, I hate these): Turn signal doesn't work. To make it quick. My right turn signal dashboard light stays on all the time, unless I have my turn signal switch telling it that I am taking a right turn. Then it goes off. Also only my passenger rear parking light works, drivers side does not. Time to go ask for help in OEM tech :banghead:
  • There is a slight rubbing noise when I turn right. Could very easily just be the dust shield or rust on brakes. It seemed to get better the longer I was out driving, but still... makes me cautious. I am pretty sure I have heard it before, I just don't know what it was. I am afraid it was something like balljoints before. but the joints that are on there now have seen very few miles. so i dont think they should be bad.
  • Fuel pump makes noise. I Knew it would, but it seems to make noise a lot sooner than before. I.e. last time I drove it I would hear the pump after I got off the highway during a drive from eastern MA to western MA. Tonight I heard it after only like 30 min of driving back roads. Then again I have to carpet or anything so for all I know it's the same as before.
  • Seemed to be some noise from the rear end or something, but then again that could have been the same "right hand turn rubbing".. this sound went away after a few miles so idk. The Jeep also seemed to catch posi alot more than I remember and spun the tires pretty easily. My cargo area is compltely empty so not much weight. Still, I gotta crack the diff and make sure somethings not wrong back there.
  • Steering felt sloppy, maybe 1" play in steering wheel. Gotta grease everything up first thing in the morning when I can find a grease gun. see if that tightens anythign up :dunno:
