THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Very true, thats how why i have all mine now. also, JJ's seem to be the only studded joint thats 2" wide with a 7/16" or 1/2" thru-bolt. i wish ballistic had that size, id use them for my track bar. maybe ill just go overkill and use some 2.63" joints

i think ill be overkill on my tb, either way one will be rh thread and other will be lh thread just so i dont need to pull off the tb to adjust, i belive my upper arm will be the same

I didn't even really intend on it at the time, but I kinda went over kill with building my trackbar... 7/8 QA1 heims with a 7/8" bore and high misalignment spacers with a 3/4" bore, and 3/4" grade 8 bolts :gee: I hope it holds up alright

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

YAY! sunday jeepy will be 4wd again, so who wants to go wheelin

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ehhhh, i dunno. wheeling isn't really my thing...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

actaully, you can burn away at mark. hes currently en route to my house to borrow my engine hoist. the next few hours are a shooting gallery on him:D

Oh SNAP! That was a pretty harsh burn :laugh3:

Monday I need to call up sullivan steel and see how much steel to replace my rockers would be... they're starting to rust, and I'd rather replace them with something solid before they get tweaked instead of after.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That is EXACTLY what I have been considering! I figured someone had already done it, that thread has some great pics, thanks.

EDIT: scrolling further down, he had to trim the bottoms of his doors due to where he chose to put the box steel, I'm going to try and avoid that by putting them a bit lower

http://www.madxj.com/

click 'technical' in the upper left, and about 3/4 of the way down the page are a few different rocker "options". I am torn between a couple different ones.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i want to put mine up to where i have to trim 2" out of the bottom of my doors

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am extremely unlikely to need that kind of clearance, and I'm still trying to maintain some semblance of sanity on this thing... lol

I'll have to do some measurements and see how things look.

Amazingly my frame rails are mostly rust free, even though my floors are in sad shape, so I might pick up enough metal to plate those before I tweak them up too. I'll have to see how much of a bonus I get this year, if any.

That's what I am waiting on right now. I'm not really sure what/when to expect something though :dunno:

My buddy just got a 20% bonus, something absurd like $11,000. Mind you the govt took like 4500 of that or more... but still. I want an $11,000 bonus :looney: If I got one like that I am pretty sure I would be torn between saving it towards a down payment and going crazy with new Jeep toys.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

11k, holy crap.

I'd probably knock a big chunk out of my student loans, put some into the downpayment fund, and blow the rest on hookers/blow/beer/jeep parts, in no particular order. My downpayment saving is pretty much over as far as I'm concerned though, because I refuse to look at spending more than 70k on a house (not including repair costs.)

Random thought - Kyle, you said you had a ZJ steering setup hanging around, still got that? I'm looking at my stock steering and realizing that (a) it's not all that strong and (b) it's just as rusty as the rest of the crap that has broken on my jeep, which means it's probably next.

nah sorry i don't have it anymore. sold it to steve, the guy who hydrolocked his engine. which brings me to: pics soon!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ah, I'll pick one up at the junkyard then!

Speaking of which, think I'm gonna hit Sams tomorrow, anyone in? I think I'm gonna chop a rocker panel in half so I can get an idea of the cross section and do some measurements, grab some ZJ steering stuff and hopefully a ZJ front DS, along with a bunch of random crap I am probably forgetting.

just replace the rockers with 2x6 box tube, you dont need to go as high as the link that ross posted, and with the zj stuff it has to be v8 to be beefy
