its a 4am and ive been thinkin about the frt 3 link for the green jeep, the clayton lowers im keepin th JJ's at the frame end, but i think im gonna cut of the rubber bushings and get incerts from clayton for the axle end

i think for the upper ill use 2 joints

i use all of the same joint if ya can, i'm a fan of simplicity

and use a hard joint, big tires and beating the piss out of it have worn out every poly/rubber bushing(and a superflex joint in my trackbar for that matter) in a matter of a couple months when i stick em in there. next trackbar will be heimed, not sure about my arms though, but either heims or a spherical cartridge joint of sorts

IN FACT i would like to upgrade the bolt size while i'm in there. run bigass heims or a 5/8" id superflex joint. not nesesarily for strength, but less likely to wallow out.

i think ill end up getting the joints and not the bushings, there only 10 bucks more each, and keep the johnny joints on the frame end for now as they were in good shape when i pulled em apart, but i gots to buy motor and trans stuff first to get it running so Travis can shut the FU(K up

I woke up in my room, we partied in the basement. Needless to say, I slept much better than if I passed out on a couch or something.

My brother slept in the basement and just woke up a short while ago, otherwise I would have cleaned it earlier. When I went down to check who was still here I could kinda make out quite a mess to say the least. I am not looking forward to it but my bro just got out of the shower I think so its about time to get to work. (I'm not starting cleaning until he is helping :thumbup

Just finished cleaning. Kinda looked worse than it was.

I also was expecting more of my gin to be gone but I guess most people stuck to beer (saw a couple people with gin and tonics over the course of the night, but not many). I have about half a handle left. Seems like a reasonable night. Guess it's time to go get some more tonic water :dunno:

Agreed. Just go hard joints all the way around and dont look back. Get the bigger sixe bolt option too, always a good thing. Ill most likely end up with the 2.63" joints with 5/8" bolts on the lowers and the 3" joints with 3/4" bolts for the upper.

keep the johnny joints on the frame end for now as they were in good shape when i pulled em apart

ive become less and less inpressed buy JJ's lately. lack of adjustable preload on the bushing, PITA snap ring, quality seems to be off, etc.... Yes, black jeep has JJ's for almost all my joints now, but i probably wouldnt buy them again. at least not with all the other options out there now for compairable money.

Its not the help I need but the kick in the butt to keep going. Everytime I have the chance to work on it I don't, then when I do want to something else comes up. I originally planned on bustin azz all last weekend instead I laid on the couch and watched movies all weekend, literally. I didn't even go to bed Sat. night just watched movies around the clock. Hopefully this weekend goes better but of course my DD XJ lost its heat so that comes first.

One of my friends who frequents the YZF forums told me a friend of his over there accidentally stole a backhoe last night. He has no recollection of this and only realized it when he looked out the window and there was a backhoe parked in his driveway. This came up while we were comparing "what happened last night" threads/posts from and various other vehicular forums.

ive become less and less inpressed buy JJ's lately. lack of adjustable preload on the bushing, PITA snap ring, quality seems to be off, etc.... Yes, black jeep has JJ's for almost all my joints now, but i probably wouldnt buy them again. at least not with all the other options out there now for compairable money.

the fact is i got them and there in good shape, when time comes to order stuff and i have the extra cash then ill get the hard joints to replace the jj's but thats a extra 100 bucks i couls spend on somthing else

and earlier i looked at a 95 XJ with125k gots not in great shape but be great for parts, they want 1k, i left message and ill only got for 500, so maybee this weekend i will have 4 xj's

i think ill be overkill on my tb, either way one will be rh thread and other will be lh thread just so i dont need to pull off the tb to adjust, i belive my upper arm will be the same
