Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just realized how much $$ I spent at the bar. I tended to try and avoid beer, and instead bought myself other things like manhattans or jack and diet.

Every month I tended to run up something around an 800$ credit card bill per month, but that is because I use my card for almost everything. It includes $5-$7 per day for lunch at work, 70$ for sprint bill, gas, etc). I just make sure that I can afford what I am buying and I pay it off at least once per month (any time I remember to log into my bank account online, usually 2 times per month, each time I deposit a pay check to be sure it went through).

Anyway, I didn't pay off my card for 3 or so weeks since I never deposited my first paycheck this month... I just put it off until the 2nd check came through. I only racked up like $300. Mind you there are only maybe a dozen work lunches this time around... but I cut out a few hundred dollars. Shows how much those manhattans and pizzas add up.

Oh, this is before my buddy went to TX. We would hit up teh bar for pizza/wings and drinks a couple nights per week. I would spend maybe 50-60$ per week on beer and bar foods (fries/pizza/wings/etc). Now I just eat at home since I don't know many people around here and god that money adds up quick.
:scared: yikes, and I thought I was bad. I refused to get internet on my cellphone for like a year because it cost $25/mo, then looked at my checking account and realized I was spending that in a week on lunch at work... so I said screw it and got internet access on my cell, then started having pb&j for lunch every day. Lunch costs me like 50-75c now, the balance (that isn't paying for cellphone internet) goes toward down payment savings or jeep parts.

is anyone else working today?
yup! wish I wasn't, think I'm gonna bail a few hours early, there is only one other guy from my 40 person team here.

this is probably the worst spelling ive seen on C/L

 that is pretty bad.

I wish someone would protest the rust off mine.
:roflmao:

yeah apparently bitchin' and moanin' about it doesn't count as protesting rust, because if it did, mine would be spotless by now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it's a really beautiful day outside.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Heading into work now. Wasn't going to go in then there is the possibility that I would have to go in to do a couple things (just a short day) but other people refuse to get in touch with me like they need to... so idk if I need to go in or not.

I figure I might as well go in either way. I have to head out to central MA for my xmas eve dinner anyway and work is literally a 2 min drive off the 495...

I did alot of that saving thing too, but I liked to get out of my house a couple nights per week (its crazy here). The best way was just to head out for dinner on a discount pizza or wing night. yeah I spent alot of $$ on expensive drinks (manhattans are around $10 each if I get it with crown) but it was worth it for me.. kinda.

It really is. I didn't even turn on the heat on my way in today.

Quite understandable, I spent every single weekend in Worcester getting in trouble with my friends instead of at my parents house when I hadn't gotten an apartment yet. Then I went on a 2 week business trip to San Jose and my lease (on an apartment in Worcester with one of the friends I'd been spending every weekend hanging out with) started the day I got back, so I just drove a uhaul up to my parents place in Haverhill the next weekend and got all my stuff. Worked out pretty nicely.

EDIT: looks like I might be buying a geared, locked d30 for $300 instead of a gearset + carrier + master install kit for $250, time for my retarded question of the week. How do I check if the locker has been abused without disassembling it fully? I know to look for chipped teeth on the gears + a loose pinion bearing etc, and to check if the wheels turn in the same direction when you turn one of them (kinda like testing an LSD?) but I don't know how to check if the locker's trashed inside. It's a Detroit. Hoping that the guy lets me pop the diff cover, if he doesn't I probably won't buy.

haha yeah, I first looked at v5s on summit, went to order, they were backordered so I went to jegs, ordered there too only to find out that they were backordered there a day later... so I went to qtec and they were 10/ea more expensive, but in stock. If I had thought ahead a little more on this project I would have (a) gone with a 15 inch or 17 inch size tire, and (b) ordered rims much further in advance
You know that all three of those places price match, right?
Also, just because it's not listed on the Summit website doesn't mean they can't get it. If they carry the brand they usually can get anything from them that isn't listed. I've ordered a few things like that in the past.

damnit! I forgot completely about price matching.

The real issue is that I'm trying to get everything lined up in time to do both axle swaps in my week of vacation between Christmas and New Years - both summit and jegs carry the rims I got, but both were entirely out of stock on them and wouldn't even be able to ship them till the 29th. I need to be able to drive to work on the 4th, so that was worrying me a bit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh yeah. And tomorrow :)

So many good times at Loon and one nasty spill. I gave myself a slight concussion landing on my head after launching off a jump I couldn't really see. I was 16 and they actually fed me some burgundy liquor inside that was nasty for my head. I actually still remember seeing a big blue star explode into a bunch of smaller ones.

I had that kind of thing happen to me last season, except it was a rail not a jump. I didn't get checked out by ski patrol, just got knocked out of it for a minute, and I don't remember going from getting up to getting onto the lift. Then I saw all kinds of weird colors etc when I was on the chairlift, had a giant headache, puked and then felt almost all better and rode for the rest of the day :)
