It's got nothing to do with the length of the ride. I just hate it for some reason. Might be the fact that every time I've gone (only i think 3, but still) it's been so-so conditions while I'm there, but then as soon as the day of riding is done and head home, boom it's a farkin blizzard and takes 8 hours to get home. One of the times took over 10 hours. So I got somethin against that ride, yeah. haha

ha yeah it can be a tough one but its not horrrrible. 3.5 hours or so to boston each way, which is about my day trip limit usually. i also have a certain bone to pick with a trail called risky business from last year.....

although, the worst drive i did was when i did a day trip to sugarloaf with a friend of mine 2 or 3 years ago. played hooky from work on what was supposed to be a powder day on a wednesday. took maybe 4.5-5 hours to get up there, and by then it was like 10am. only like 1 lift was open that day since it was so windy and therefore all the powder had blown into the trees also. nobody was on the mountain that day either since it was so XXXXing cold. the only redeeming factor was the trail that was all snowmaking at the last run of hte day we found way off, ungroomed godliness of 2+ feet of powpow. then on the way back we got lost in east bumbleXXXX maine so it was over 6 hours to get back. and since it was so cold that day, the hatch froze shut and would not open at the mountain, but apparently unlatched. as soon as we got to 70mph on rt 128 the hatch flew wide open since it warmed up just enough for the ice to let go and nearly shook loose the boots and gloves.

Despite all the potential for shittyness...I can't wait to get ridin this year :) First Midnight Madness is this Saturday, and it's supposed to be freezing rain, but I'm at least gonna go for a couple hours to cruise around and stuff

i'm itchin for actual mountain again. i've done some good backyard boarding and snow-wake-jeep-boarding but nothing actual yet. soon though!

So many good times at Loon and one nasty spill. I gave myself a slight concussion landing on my head after launching off a jump I couldn't really see. I was 16 and they actually fed me some burgundy liquor inside that was nasty for my head. I actually still remember seeing a big blue star explode into a bunch of smaller ones.
