THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

those tires look like military tires...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I want unobtainium tires - they have a greater coefficient of kinetic friction than their coefficient of static friction.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

back in 04 there was ridiculous traffic on the Pike the sunday after thanksgiving. I left my house in Halifax at 12:30PM (so I should have got to my college around 2:30... I didn't get to college until midnight. It was bumper to bumper traffic from rt 495 all the way out to somewhere around exit 7 of the pike.

Thank god I had the (automatic) camry back then... if I was in the (5-speed) Jeep or even my altima (6 speed)... I would have absolutely hated my life.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So the benefit would be it will slow down faster if you start to skid?
Yup. If only such a material could be created...

EDIT: I guess I really shouldn't say "never", hell, they've created metamaterials with a negative index of refraction now. That just isn't supposed to happen.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Benefit of CTD: release clutch in 2nd gear to get moving. No gas required.

I love having 450+ ft lbs of torque.

:D

Yeah, but just dealing with teh clutch for 10 hours of stop and go would have sucked in general...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

screw that, that's where I would pull off into the median, park it, and go to sleep for a while.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hit a ton of traffic last year on the pike going back into Boston on our break in run Colin. I ended up just shutting my Jeep off since I was paranoid about the exhaust coming in since I ripped off the muffler. Thankfully the road was sloped downwards, so I would only have to take my foot off the brakes every 10 minutes to move. It was loud as hell though when I had to start it a few times.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I had an OK day with the Jeep. Got out of work and had the CO2 and Acetylene tanks filled, then finished cutting out my old exhaust and welded up a couple things and got the dynomax exhaust in. Nice setup, would have been much easier to install if I didn't cut out half of my stock hangers. I just got one small leak (kindof expected it to leak there). Was about 1" short on straight exhaust pipe... so the pipe between my muffler and tailpipe isn't in as far as it *should* be and the clamp holds it OK... but just leaks a bit. Welding it up later tonight or tomorrow once the moisture dries off

the dynomax kit is very nice got one on my moms/soon to be mine xj

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was kinda surprised with the kit. They have 2 different kits, one for < '92 and one for '92 +

Based on other discussions, the early model set is because the earlier XJs had 4 bolt flange catalytic converters.. but this early model kit comes with a steel tailpipe rather than a stainless tailpipe.

I got the 93+ kit and it still came with what I assume is the flange for the early model cats. I suppose they had enough people who wanted the 93+ setup (for the stainless tailpipe) who also needed the flange adapter. :dunno: I just didn't use it... no loss for me. Giving it to a friend who needs the adapter for his truck, so I guess I'm glad I got it in the end.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Somebody give me an impact gun for cheap/free

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

carmelo...just get that green matco ratchet, and as you use it, smash the back of it repeatedly and furiously with Thor's hammer. Boom! impact gun.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Maybe I'm missing something, but he was winching himself up that. That was what the guys kept laughing and joking at. You can even see the winch line kick up dirt when it goes slack and then becomes taught again.

So your saying I should have used a smilie?

Somebody give me an impact gun for cheap/free

I have one you can have for free but you'll have to re-gasket/rebuild it.
