THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My harbor freight holders work just fine and they still exist and I beat the crap out of my tools and leave them outside for weeks at a time regularly and they cost $0.00025 for a set of a half billion of them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so they're super expensive but the quality sucks so it's worth it. that's what your saying, right carmelo?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm glad we see eye-to-eye.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't think you guys really understand exactly how many sockets I'm going to need to organize. I wish I could buy those holders the new Craftsman sets used to come in.
I don't know if there is anything better? Honestly I don't.
I don't like the ones that really grab onto the sockets... they're too much of a pain to deal with while I'm under the Jeep holding something heavy up with the other hand. But the weak ones made out of plastic annoy me because they drop the sockets all over the place if you look at them funny. I think I might get a bunch of strong-ish magnets and epoxy them into a square plastic tube or something.
The Ernst ones seem to get decent reviews. I'm would make my own, but not for as many sockets as I will now need holders for.

I refuse to buy Chinese junk, even if it is that cheap.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sooo, just how many sockets will you be organizing, out of curiousity? :) I think the Ernst ones look pretty decent. I was thinking of getting them myself, then decided I'll still lose all my tools so I'm not going to bother hah

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bill, i have just the set of socket holders for you!! sounds like you want the ones i have. they take up the least space, have good labels and those odd/small sizes. i found mine cheap at auto swap meets.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

X2 on that, did you buy out the remaining stock of some warehouse or something? Or just get the Super Duper Extra Titanium Gold Plated socket collection?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wow Ken you are a post WHORE. I thought Travis was bad but you have got to win the most posts in the least amount of time. You've been here the least amount of time and have more posts than alot of us that have been here a couple years. You'll catch up to Travis in a few months at this rate...

Lets just say I'll never not have a socket. If I don't have it, it isn't made. ;)

Sweet, when are you bringing them by and what is the catch? :D

Not exactly.

Eh, I actually use my tools so fancy personalization or cool neato platings are pointless. :D

I was thinking the same thing this morning. You are posting all over the place lately.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm glad to relinquish the throne. hahaha

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i dunno... there were a few hundred pages back a ways that were mostly travis and sometimes myself posting. i vote travis retains the throne.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I agree with Bill, having every socket ever made is the way to go. I go thru boxes at swap meets to find odd sizes to fill my collection.

Are these like the type of holders youre looking for Bill? No annoying posts, easy to see labels, more then enough spaces, hell it even holds my 8MM 1/2" drive impact socket. ive tried all the other versions out there and found these to be the best IMHO.

guilty as charged. I'm not sure I take the throne, but I do post way too much...

at least I post in modtech/oem tech for most of it (aside from this thread) :eye:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

focus on the task at hand Mark and be ready to walk away if it's not what you want. FOCUUUUUUS!!!

Oh I'm focused and ready to walk away.
That thing is going to get a scrutinizing inspection. I will turn every knob, push every button, splooge on every part, er i mean...

Colin is coming with me to take a look, although he doesn't know what it is yet.

Those would work if they aren't to terribly expensive. I just worry about carrying them and dropping them all over.
These look like them?

bill, i have these

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00941829000P?vName=Tools&keyword=socket+holder

and they are surprisingly durable and the sockets never fall off or break the plastic. you can add more socket holders on too.
I looked at those the other day at Sears. They look like they work well. I think those and the Ernst HD ones are similar, except I can snap the Ernst HD ones together with those end pieces and carry a bunch at once.
I guess I need to just pick a type and go with it. :twak:

those look like them. i scored all mine from somebody at a swap meet for like $10. as long as you hold them damn thing upright-ish, they stay in place. i hate the snap on rails, but their only advantage is they hold on at any angle.
