THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can't argue 44 vs. 60. I end up going in circles.

I love my 44 because I can't blow it up on 35s, but if I move up to 37s-39s I don't want to be wishing I went to a 60 instead of spending the money beefing up the 44 more.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just spent the last half hour going through my records for Rob. FYI for those that care; without brackets, steering, shafts, and u-joints, I've got $1117 into my front D60, that's everything replaced down to the spindle nuts, not to shabby I don't think. Means it could be possible to be under $2000 easy for a D60 install.

Maybe I'll spend my tax return money on this next year then...

Yes, everyone keep building D44's and 60's! And then when you're done give me your D30's! I know they're big and heavy but I will be sure to take them off your hands because I am just that nice.

Shut up and start building a 60

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So my cherokee gets 14.5 volts while running, has spark, fuel and seems to get 40psi oil pressure as well but will just start run for a second or two and die. CPS? I have no idea.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

All fuses are good and I don't even know where the hell the CPS would be.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

CPS would mean no spark.

Just check and see the resistance between the pins of the CPS with a multimeter. Post up your results.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Driver side of the transmission, near the bellhousing, located at about 10 0'clock.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It has to be near the flywheel and it's not at the bottom of the tranny. Makes me feel like a total tard WTF.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What happens when you give it gas after it is first started, does it stay running or does it die?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ahhh so above the starter then? I'm sure I can find the proper values online for it then. Are you sure I would get no spark? Or it would possibly just firing wrong, wrong timing or something along those lines and perhaps not be able to start?

If you give it gas it will try to live a little longer but still dies. I might get 2-3 seconds out of it instead of 1.

What about holding the gas for a while?

And yes, I'm sure you get no spark from the CPS, that was why I had to tow the red jeep home when I first bought it.
CPS uses a Hall effect technology, it senses proximity of something. This is why it the plate in the transmission has all teeth around the outside, that is what the CPS senses. There really is no moving parts, and nothing for it to misfire. If the CPS was bad, you wouldn't really have your Jeep starting every time.

My bad CPS did allow me to start every once and a while, but not consistently.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Turn on and give it steady gas for a while. If you let of after a couple minutes, and it stays on, you'll be fine. The computer will sometimes forget all its preset idle data when the battery gets low, and thus you will have to help it relearn it.

I have to do this every time I jump mine, as well as my friend had to do it with his '97 wrangler.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Interesting, i can't give it steady gas to keep it running it dies no matter what. The rotor and cap looked pretty crappy. I cleaned up the rotor with a piece of sandpaper then broke it. So i'll have to buy a cap and rotor then and maybe/hopefully that will be the problem. I'll be pretty damn proud of myself if it wont start because they are so crappy.
