and btw 27x1 1/4 is not uncommon at all. it's old. it was staged out during the early 90s/late 80s for the most part. a lot of shops still carry those tires though and they can be found cheaply enough. it depends how neatly you want to do the fixie. if you do a new chain, crank, rear sprocket and rear hub (might as well get a whole rear wheel at this point)... you could be looking at a few hundred bucks.
