I've also been thinking about a swing down tire carrier and a cage to stiffen up the unibody while doorless.

Sorry dude, doors don't really keep the body stiff. A piece of metal that is attached by 2 hinges, and a latch (not a solid mounting point, as there is play there) doesn't stiffen the entire unibody.

Next time you are driving, stick your hand out the window, and stick your fingers between the rain gutter and door. You'll feel it moving around as you go over bumps. The door can't be stiffening things up if its floating around.

Has anybody done head gaskets on a Chevy 5.3L? Apparently my aunt's Tahoe is losing coolant and it's sounding funny. I'm thinkin' the motor is probly toast because of the sounds it's making. Also, the motor has been making noises for a couple weeks now and as everybody knows water is a great anti-lubricant!

I've never done a head gasket on anything but I can do it no problem. FYI i'm just going to smear RTV on the outside of the head.

the shop i used to work at poured Bar's stop leak in a customers radiator and charged the customer 1200 for a complete head gasket job

Oh okay I read somewhere on here that it does a little. I just don't want to tweak the body so I can't put the doors back on.

Yo bump, do you have any good rear wiper motors? Mine crapped out.

I think the only one I have is in a hatch I have, the other one I sold but it sounds like your set.

new tires are in, hope to have them on and wheelin by the weekend

holy crap i'm pooped from wrestling with the damn shackle bolts and shit. i got the passenger side 1.25" shackle on now with the spring back in place, but hte XXXXin driver side upper shackle bolt is frozen to the bushing sleeve so its being a BITCH to get out. one of the guys from the shop a few doors down showed me a trick to use my pickle fork to slowly hammer it out, but its very very intense, and wailing away on it for well over a half hour has taken its toll. and its really loud for the people in the condos next door. but whooo since i didnt have any homework tonight so i was actually able to work on it for a few hours!

carmelo you still able to come up Friday to get the D30?
