THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if you're gonna do something...do it right. You wouldn't want a Jeep with a 2.5L
i also don't want a rocket beneath my balls. a 1000rr is just too much bike. that's how new riders die.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

true but you need to know when you're pushing it too hard...

...I will also never own a motorcycle. Jeeps are enough for me. I might get a sports car to feed my speed fix but that's it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i can say i've been victim of thinking i was in control and quickly realizing how not in control i was in many things. having that much power is really just asking for it to happen.

i should be going to look at that bike sunday depending on finances. we'll see how it goes.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My theory with the newb/too much power thing basically comes down to: YOU are in control. YOU tell the throttle what to do. For example, when I was 15 I bought my first 4wheeler... got a brand new 03 400ex. At the time it was Honda's fastest sport quad, and alot of people on the forums thought they were way too much for a beginner rider to handle, muchless a 15 y/o kid, you'll kill yourself, etc etc. But I knew that if I got something with a smaller motor, I'd be bored with it in no time and wanting more. So, long story short, I dove in, got the 400, enjoyed the hell out of it, and don't have a single regret related to owning that thing. Plus, nowadays people in the world of quads hear 400ex, and the general concensus is that it's "slow". Well, odd, but 5 years ago that's not what they said...It's all relative... I think the people who have "too much bike" and get themselves hurt had it coming, no offense. You keep your cool, know your limits and stay well within them, and you'll be just fine. My .02 :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm actually talking to a kid about trading the 2dr XJ for an 02' 400ex but we'll see, its something diff.

I know what Anthony is saying and what your talking about Travis. You dont want to buy a bike only to find in a couple months that its too small and your regretting not going bigger but at the same time having more power also allows you to do more then you should do or are able to do. My last bike had the 1550cc motor that I had bumped up to almost 1600cc and wanted to put nos in it because I wanted faster. Thankfully I didnt because after a long night at the strip club with some friends and losing them on the way home because it was cold and I figured the quicker I got home the quicker I'd get warm. I probably would have used it. After that night I looked at my newborn daughter and got back into Jeeps, slightly safer. Oh yeah and sold the bike for one hell of a loss.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I totally understand the flip side of the argument...Just saying that in my opinion, it's a game of willpower and nothing more. Use your head and it's no problem, anyone can ride it.

And as far as the trade goes... It depends on the condition of the quad I'd say. But, let it be known that the 400's motor is to quads what the 4.0 is to wheelin....fawkin indestructible :D You'll enjoy it, but unless you've got places to ride often with people to ride with, and nearby...it'll get old, fast. I would still be into quads, but my 400 was stolen and that left a sour taste in my mouth. I did own a cannondale 440 (ROCKETSHIPS) for *1* day haha. but ended up reversing the deal due to some inconsistences with paperwork etc that I wasn't comfortable with and the guy didn't follow thru on, etc etc... Man do those things fly though :D Sorry to get off track. But Cannondales, after you did the updates on em and worked out the kinks, were bikes waaay ahead of their time. EFI in '99, full aluminum frame, factory beadlocks, ohlins shocks, etc etc etc. SICK quads. There was a guy I remember, his user name on the forums was something like "Timbomoose" or something. And he built those 432s into 469cc strokers that put down something like 85 horse at the wheels. pretty damn outrageous for a quad. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i already told you. smash the glass out of my hatch so i don't have to deal with it fogging up, and you can have the one off my big jeep. :) IF you go on rob's run this month. ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

well in that case I'll probably take the time to put it in the lil jeep, seeing as that one's burned out :)
