I can't wait to wheel! I need to tidy up a bit of the PO's wiring under the hood wiring a bit so I feel better driving in water/mud. Exposed wires don't like that kind of stuff.

Bill I wish I knew earlier you were looking for a cheap 97+ XJ, I could have set you up earlier with one but it looks like you made out fine. I just picked up a 97' 2dr and a 00' 4dr. As for the rear brakes go ZJ only because if you look on craigslist you can find some so cheap it's worth buying the whole thing, ripping some stuff off and then scrapping it. After which you have free rear upgrade and spare parts and money.

Go with Nitro.

That's what I might plan on. Superiors might be the best, but I haven't heard bad things about Nitro. I think ktmracer (Sam...?) runs them on his rig too...I might be wrong.

yes. he does. the thing with them is although they seem to make a decent axle, I know and trust Superior's name, and I like their no-hassle warranty. My understanding is that the Evolution series has a lifetime warranty, and the Discovery series has the same warranty terms, but limited to X number of years...I emailed Superior to get the exact details on each, so I'm waiting to hear back from them. I'll probably email Nitro too in the meantime, and ask for their warranty terms as well. Just so I can be clear either way...

Superior and be done with it. Any chromo's i buy from now on will be Superiors. When i get chromo's for the HP60, ill have dutchman make me a custom one since they use superior blanks.

I think I agree. I just want to hear from them exactly what the warranty is on the Discovery Series before I throw down the money...I have Evolution Series shafts in the rear but I can't justify their cost in the front, it's just plain too much for me. So I think it's between the Nitro's and the Superior Discovery Series...I'll compare warranties and probably decide based mostly on that
