begsterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. and yeah, i am gettin close, huh? jeeze. and I haven't even been on here much lately heh

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the real question is... is it worth the $10 for hte countersunk bolts with the ruffstuff? i kinda really hate allen head bolts, especially how colin has broken like 3 allen key sockets

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My personal opinion would be nopeee.

I broke one, twisted another, and broke a torx bit in it.

Get a QUALITY socket and you'll be fine. I got a MAC one for $11 from a friend and it hasn't let me down yet.

I like the countersunk option, no rounding of bolt heads.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

cool beans, what did ya get? countersunk bolts, drain plug? either/neither?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Quality tools are the only way to go. I don't waste money buying junk 3 times over. Buy the good one once, take care of it, and you'll never have to replace it.
maybe ill take a trip to airgas and grab another 11# spool of .030 wire. i have the feeling im gunna need it soon.
HTP Welding Wire
That is the stuff I use, its decently cheap, E70S-6, and it's layered wound rather than random so it feeds better.
IIRC, its about $42 shipped for 2 10lb spools and 10 contact tips.

neither. starting in july i'll be working in the machine shop again as my work study so if i do decide i want to countersink the bolts, i can do it myself for free. i wanted something substantial to drill and tap a wire grommet-thing in, instead of hte stamped sheet metal crap for the ECTED wires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

WOW diff cover is already shipped! i ordered it, went to get some lunch and it's already on a truck. :yelclap: to Ruffstuff!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, Dan's the mann. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

no one around here has weld-through primer or knows what it is. the welding supply store that i usually go to doesn't have any but they can get it. poop

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just called a store that's about a half hour away and they have it... is it worth it? i'll probably wait till tomorrow.

Depends on how bad you want to do it today.

I would go do it and try to get the stiffeners done today so that tomorrow you can just worry about the WJ stuff.
