i bought a 9" third member from a guy in westminster today. it came set up but never run. the guy did it himself and used oil based paint instead of gear marking paint so its hell to try and see the pattern. From what i can tell the drive side is towards the toe and the coast side is slightly towards the heel. I already have the ring gear off to install my detroit but i think i am going to lessen the pinion shim.

quick question on the ax-15.
i get some "chatter" when in neutral,not all the time,but comes and goes.
it goes away almost entirely when the clutch is pushed.
it also is barely audible when in gear, but like i said its intermittent.
pilot bearing?
the clutch does not slip at all either.
id make a thread but it might be answered quicker on this thread...

i'd say screw it, adjust the carrier first. the carrier is cake to reset on those.

Anybody plan on going to the swap meet at great woods/tweeter center/ comcast center this weekend? They fill the entire parking lots with stuff. I've scored a 66 mustang, tools, parts, axles, etc. from previous shows. the forcast for tomorrow even looks half decent, I know I'm looking forward to it.

there was a d44, front winch bumper, doors(i think they were the ones in my own shed i grabbed at hollands for 1/2 doors).
also two three wheelers and one of those big tired old school minibikes.

i just put in my two week notice to kinda force myself into a new job, so i may have TONS of time shortly.
