have i made it clear i rather dislike proE and intralink yet?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was thinking about maybe jumping up to the high flow Flow Kool for a bit more. Its high, but not as ridiculous as the Hesco .
Ya, I didn't notice the one we looked at last night was not due to ship till 5/22. Oops. Summit Racing may not have it, but what about Jegs, Quatratec or like? I think they both had the Flow Kool one for a decent price.
so, any comments on the 3 link? more separation at the frame side would be nice but that kills the anti-squat % :( idk...
The only reason I said that was I'm not sure if you'll get funny characteristics with the upper pointed up toward the axle at such an odd angle. You can raise the frame side of it, but then you'd have to raise the frame side mounts for the lowers and increase the lower horizontal separation on the axle side which I am not sure you can do with the Clayton arms. Are you 100% sure on those measurements? 19" from the ground seems kinda low for those arms on the frame side, mine are about 23-24", IIRC, and I can't be that much heigher with lift over you I'm still going to run RE 4.5" coils, and should total 6.5-7" lift.

Try this to get more in the ballpark of what I was thinking and seen run:
Add 2.5" to the frame side upper link mount
Subract 2" from the axle side upper link
Add 2" to the frame side lower link mount
Add about 1.5" to 1/2 horizontal the lower link axle separation
Add 0.5" to the axle side lower link mount

That should get you pretty close to something good. If it actually works with the Clayton setup and clears everything underneath is a different story.

why are you looking at 3 link numbers travis?
I think he is still going to run the Clayton stuff, but wants to but the axle links mounts in a good position so that at a later date all he needs to do is the frame side if he wants a 3 link. I'm just not sure it is going to work out like that.

if i knew what i was looking at i'd comment on it... but alas i dont know really anything about 3 links. are there any links to good reading about them? i'm pretty bored / unmotivated at work today
Try the PBB, thats where I got most of my information before my build.

...copycat
I'm tellin' Bill...
Thanks for the heads up!
...he's gonna be upset to be called the master. not my fault its true though. haha
Your damn right I am! :gonnablowThere are a whole heck of a lot better builders than me out there. I don't want that title at all.
I just attempt to look like I know what the heck I'm doing. :compwork:
hey, whatever. all i know is i'm making it clear i'm not trying to oust his position of king NAC fabricator :laugh2:
No. No. NO.
Seriously, no.

Yep, I know what you mean with being unsure of it working...I just figure now's the time to give it a shot and see if it might actually be do-able. Can't hurt :sunshine:

Can't hurt at all.
Read what I posted in the edits above, break out the tape measure again, and report back. ;)

I did :) I'm at work, so no tape measuring right now, but I threw in those quick changes to see what it did...I got an anti squat of 67.78 and a roll axis angle of 2.81 so not bad, but I still like the numbers I have in the screen shot I posted a little better. It's hard guesstimating my ride height; no axles under the jeep currently heh... But, if you'll be sitting at 6.5-7", I can just go off of that, using some of your numbers as a base... I'm planning to end up right around 5-5.5", so I can just subtract 3"(approximate difference between lift and tires, 1.5" each) from what you've got, and have it pretty good I'd think... something to work with anyway :) And currently, its pouring here... if it lets up a bit I'll try to take some more accurate measurements on the clayton arms when I get home.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i want this 3 link calculator, but i feel like it would be a bad idea if it were in my hands.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hah...i'lll email it to ya ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

in a little while tho. gtg for a rideee currently. i get paid once a week to go for a cruise :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sweet, coils came yesterday, jks stuff comes later today, and ballistic fab stuff comes thursday. AND i just found a set of 4.5" Alcan leafs for a good deal so depending on shipping, i'm probably gunna buy those.

I didn't notice it either until I was thinking about busting the credit card out.
I haven't checked Jegs or Q-tec yet, I'm headed there now.
I did look around at a few other places and they all said not available.

I try do do that with my life.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well, I couldn't navigate Jegs' website to easy, I guess its not special people orientated. I couldn't find that particular water pump on either the quadratec or jegs websites.

But, for $10 more, I ordered that Flow Kool from Quadratec.

Technically, Y can be considered a vowel at times.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

"and sometimes Y" :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright, so I need to replace my transfercase.

Should I go for another 242, or should I put a 231 in?
What does everyone think?

And don't give me any of that "Oh, 242's are crap, or are weak," because thats a load of sh*t

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

...you shoulda bought my 242 duuude...

I say grab whatever t-case is easier/cheaper/more convenient...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'd say 231 just because they have more aftermarket support...but, whatever you find a deal on, just go with that. how come you need to replace it??

I was going to, until you called me up and said your brother wanted to buy it.

My current hack and tap will be going on whatever I replace it with. other than that, I'm not really doing anything aftermarket to it.
I need to replace it because its spewing parts, metal shavings in the fluid, and front output bearing is shot (has play).
