Is it just me or did the quick post disappear?

No Nstar doesnt shutoff without some serious notification between mailings and phone calls. I know I had to let that bill slide before when I first owned my house and even the day of shutoff the guy called me from my house and said if I paid it that day he would come back later. Im not sure the approach they take up there though. Thats one draw back from living with roommates. I just recently kicked the kid out at my house for basically that. He was there to help pay the bills instead he added to them and didnt pay me anything. Hopefully you get it back today. Of course I stopped worrying about shutoffs once I got my generator. Between the Bstar bill and gas for the generator I really dont know which is cheaper.

Sweet Colin because I thought about it afterwards and realized Im not taking the axles out right away.

yeah one of my other rommates used to work for nstar and he was telling me that they won't shut it off unless its been at least like 3 months and 15 notices saying "PAY YOUR BILL DEADBEAT". the part that really pissed me off was he was saying how he'll do it when he gets a chance, but was sitting in the rain waiting for the sox game to start when i talked to him. he ignored all calls after that from myself and other rommmates as well

he's a nice guy and all, but very irresponsible as shown yesterday. that and he never ever cleans our bathroom i share with just him

Billy, between you, Nick, Joe and few others Im sure you could fix that axle. We fixed one, one time, by securing the carrier and the good end to a fixed table and attaching a come-a-long to the bent end, then heated the tube at the bend and slowly ratcheted it back into place. Good enough that he never had any problem with alignment, DW or anything. The method Ross mentioned works too. Its all about the heat and getting the metal to regain its original state. Just to prove it as a demo, take a small metal rod and bend it, you see it weaken at the bend and even if you bend it back its still weakened because you thinned the makeup of the metal at that point. Now take a lighter or small torch to that area and then hit it with water and the metal is hard again. People that do auto body and bang dents out but dont use heat afterwards actually make the metal worse by weakening it again.

bumps right, when i worked at the autobody shop we used to straighten horribly bent frames with heat, a quick tug, and water, worked great for popping out dents too, heat em um with a head gun and slap on a piece o fdry ice-pop- no more dent, the concept is the same, id say go for it, worst that happens is what? its still bent?

worst that could happen is the tube loses its metallurgical properties, and snaps in half hitting a bump driving 65 miles an hour on the highway and kills billy, his passengers and everyone around him. ever bent a paperclip back and forth enough times to break? same idea.

Thats why you have to heat it Kyle. It restores the properties back to there original state. Thats why I mentioned bending a small rod or coat hanger even and then apply hte principle.

Oh yeah I just remembered a friend of mine use to work for Dent Wizard and he showed me a bunch of there tricks. You can use a hair dryer on like your qtr panel or door and then use a cool/wet rag to pop a dent out. Obviously you dont want to heat to the point of the paint bubbling.
