Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Everything I priced (this was awhile back) was brand new parts. Shop around and they probably could be had for cheaper or even used. I also know you don't need the knuckles on some D44s. At the time I had neither axle so I wanted to keep the playing field fair. As I know you know, I ended up having a bunch of axles and I could have gone either way as I had them both (D44 and D60), I settled on what I thought was best. It is all personal opinion, I'm not saying what you did was bad or wrong. Just simply posting my outcome of everything.
Edit: That's something I just realized I forgot on that old chart, brakes.
No, I'm not. Really, I'm not.Bill's tryin to make excusessssssslol
Like I said, prices may vary. Read the darn disclaimer.I'll have to post up some of the chart I made when I built my 44. Some of those prices are slightly off.
For example:
D44 high steer knuckles: $490.50
I payed $200 for a complete axle with flatops. I was even able to use the calipers for cores.
Ball joints did not cost me $90.

Sorta why I'm not pushing the issue. I don't want anyone to jump into anything.i would rather build something other than an XJ into a buggy. I think on 35s they are the perfect vehicle for what we have around here.
Only because I kept the 1-ton brakes. You can step the brakes down to 1/2 and 3/4 ton stuff and run 15s.Another thing to think about, Colin would have to get new tires, as he wouldn't be able to use a 15" rim on a D60. (I believe your 16.5's were a tight fit?
