THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

In all seriousness I would put the rear end up on jack stands and see if you can duplicate the symptom. Try to find what's wrong with it. Sounds pretty easy to me!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

step 1: purchase 9"
step 2: cut off old mounts
step 3: TIG new mounts
step 4: bolt into red xj
step 5: do some burnouts!!!

fixed it!
Hahah nice.

Ya thats what I was planning. I have 9-10 more hours of work, so I won't be able to do it until tonight.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

x2 on what Adam said.

Also, check the driveshaft u-joints first as they make a nice vibration when they're going out.

One more thing, if it is in fact wheel bearings, you won't hear the noise while up on jackstands since there is no load on them (unless they are really junk). To check them, try going about 10-15 in an open parking lot or something and turn the wheel slowly back and forth, shifting the weight of it onto each side.

Might as well go for a 14ff? :dunno::shhh:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wish all these counted as posts for me!

Aright Mark, better idea:

Get the jeep idling in drive at about 5 mph and get out...climb under it with a creeper and start to feel around! Grab the driveshaft to see if there is any play in it. Stick your finger in the rear yoke...maybe you'll find $1,000 in it! Then after you crash into a car you can worry about something other than the vibration!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin...7 steps is too much for you! you'd weld half of the truss on and half the bolts on the spool...forget about the carrier bearings being pressed on. You'd grab a hammer and ster whailing on them until they mushroom and look okay and fit. Then you'd crazy glue the driveshaft to the yoke...the perches would be JB welded to the axle and you'd run it! BUt with your luck you'd run 38" LTB's and you wouldn't even get a vibe at 90...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh Adam, you forgot that when I get up to my first rock after traveling 90 mph on the highway to the trail, I'd blow the sidewall on one tire and the bead on another.

But I'd have 3 more spares at my house :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
