THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

We have a rotating table (blanking on the name) that attaches to the rails of the Bridgeport like a regular vise. Just center it up, then track the table over to the correct radius, then rotate the table.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

we have a CNC at school also that i'm sure if you're buddy buddy with the machinist, he'd let you use it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i've never heard of a table like that, but it sounds like a pretty cool idea and pretty straightforward. doing it by hand, that would be the way to go....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yes, but the power feed ones, even better. :D

I'm saving my pennies in a jar. ;)
Biggest issue is the 3-phase power required. So I'll have to get a rotary phase converter as well.

They do work very nicely.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my name's not bill... but... i'm going to throw another .02 at it. why not cut the stock mount off and build it up straight from the bumper? no need to do anything crazy that way... just get some tie in brackets (like i did from jcr :D) and plate the side of the crush zone and weld it all to hell. if that makes sense... i think it would just be easier to cut the ARB mounts off and start over...

you don't even have to buy them, but i did because for the time and effort saved and frustration of getting just that small amount of 1/4" plate i thought it was worth it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My name's not Bill either, and I'm only throwing in one cent. ...be sure to use duct tape

welll... duh. it's like the best flux out there. better than weld through primer.

Sometimes when I really want to make sure things stay put, I'll use the weld through primer, wrapped in duct tape, with grade 8 staples as reinforcement. Never fails.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wow, i'm surprised i never thought of that. that's smart.

i hope no one ever reads this and thinks we're serious and references us as tech.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

see you can't just use duct tape, it's weak. gorilla tape is where it's at

Haha, that would be awesome.

"But these guys online were all talking about how awesome staples and duct tape would work!!?!..."

After reading about your grade 8 staples in triple shear I was looking around for something at work (high end cabinetry shop) and found an batch of old staples from some guns we don't use anymore. They've got a coating on them that makes them look like the zinc coating of grade 8's... :laugh3:
