Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can not wait to leave work. Got a nice stogie and magit hat waiting for me at home.

No, definitely not chicken. I'm so hungry right now, talking about food is badddddddd.

But anyway... So far for the front 44 I have the hubs, upgraded shafts, spool, disc brake conversion, and steering linkages. Next, I'm planning to order the gearset and install kit, I want to have a go at it myself, setting them up. We'll see how that goes, and in the meantime I'll get the brackets ordered up. Probably going with the Ballistic Fab coil buckets that incorporate the coil, shock, and LCA all in one. Also includes the TB mount. I'm thinking of making a truss with some tube and making my own mounts for uppers. It's either that or buy RE's kit, but I'd rather not spend that money if I don't have to; the uppers ought to be easy enough to make... So yeah, basically, just get some gears in there, burn in some brackets, and then I'd also like to get alloys in the rear to match the front's 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern.

the DWE forum, ya mean? Sweet :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hm, that's weird. post/pm your stuff and I'll ask Tammy or Ryan about it, they'd be able to take care of it for you.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just got a new knife today, I was just playing with it, and I almost dropped it on my bare foot. It would have been bad, as that knife is sharp as hell.

Setting up gears in an HP44 isn't too bad. Superior has shafts that give you the option of 5x4.5 and 5x5.5 for a rear D44

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it's a LP :( got it from a friend, early bronco axle. I'd prefer HP obviously very much, but I got a great deal on it and he had already gotten some of the parts, so hey. It's a "budget" build, so I'll take what I can get :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And yeah, I was either going to get the Superiors or Alloy USAs, I believe they also have the dual bolt pattern

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sucky. What parts had he already gotten for it, and how much of a good deal was it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Begster, do you have any kind of writeup on doing your axle, as far as things like the brackets/steering type stuff is concerned? I'd be interested in taking a look at it sometime, if ya do...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Haha, he had already gotten everything I have for it (I make good progress on my own... ) and I got it for $200

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ohhh, right. I remember that now. Hmmm. I would love to use that TNT truss, but I don't know if I want to spend the $$$ on it. Definitely very nice though.

Thanks for the link :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey, then again... I can always finish this 44, then sell a matched set of locked 44s with alloys and 4.88s ready to bolt into an xj, and get started on some 60's :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bill (RCman) and I were talking, as we both have a TNT truss. They are nice, but he said he wouldn't buy it if he were to do it over again, and we both had found problems with the trusses. Mine was tweaked when I got it, I think his might have been too.

I had been busy as hell, and I didn't want to go through the extra efforts of having to set up the truss and bracket locations, so I just got the truss. I was way behind schedule, so I just chose to get the truss, I thought it was pretty bad ass also. But, as mentioned, there was a few problems.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if i was to do a custom axle id just go with the clayton bracket kit, his stuff is just badass, but for now its just a 30
