id go option #1.
higher rated tree saver and snatchblock.
lower rated tow strap, but the chain, shackles and gloves make up for it.

Gloves are cheap, and I have some shackles already.
The tree saver is just ridiculous rated at 60,000lbs. Everything, meaning the winch, snatchblock, line, etc, would fail before that 60,000 lbs are met. I like over kill, but is that really necessary? Snatch block is only a few thousand lbs more than the ARB one.

The chain would be nice to be able to pull a car or ordinary SUV out say in a snow storm, or some other interesting case. It would Never be used offroad.

I think option 2 is more of a "bling" option, but I do like the idea of the winch line damper.

I have problems making decisions.

I figured you would have at least gloves,shackle and a strap, but i assumed the question was based on having no recovery gear.
in that case, put together your own and save a few bucks probably.
and id keep a chain. it helps in odd situations.(think MacGuyver)

Strap got trashed last trip.

I was intending on putting together my own, which was option 2, and it came out to the exact same price as option 1.

I agree, there would be a situation where a chain could come in handy.

i got one better than all of you...a trailer and an excavator to unload it with....hehe since my flares didnt get ripped off at the jamboree im sure gonna try harder this time to make them go away

i just replaced calipers and pads but my front brakes are hung up now. they were smoking while driving around the neighborhood
