THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you can get one out of a wrecked car for sub 10k,
maybe when I win the lottery

And now I want to put a sams pull a part lq9 (lol assuming I ever find one) in something just to see how fast/cheap I can do it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I did. he just told me there's 15 ahead of me and it will be another couple weeks. also saw him posting about harnesses and tunes on a friends Facebook so I left a little note there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I googled it and yeah, the difference is compression ratio and whether the pistons are coated or not or something like that. Same block and bottom end.

I would be asking for my money and harness back and taking it somewhere else at this point. Seriously. He hasn't even started on it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My friend said the only way to know for sure is by looking at the pistons? I don't know anything about them.

Did you call and bitch about the harness yet? Stop being a puss.

That's for the 4.8/5.3 if you don't have the vin for the engine.

You forgot to tell him it's for a race car. Those always take priority.

(almost not even joking)

By that math that means he had a backlog of hundreds of harnesses to do before you even sent yours.

Take it back and send it elsewhere. Plenty of places do that shit and I bet you get it done faster. Zero excuses at this point.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

heads and block are stamped correctly for an lq9 if that's what you are saying.

That's for the 4.8/5.3 if you don't have the vin for the engine.

Well my friend (knows a bunch about LS engines, done an LQ4 swap in a monte, etc.) said that you can only tell by looking at the piston (flat top vs dish) and some say rods (doesn't know if that's true or not).

Both are stamped 6.0 on the block, and they use the same heads.

The 4.8/5.3 both are stamped 4.85.3 so you can't tell by looking at the pistons either. You have to measure the stroke (same block/bore).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Holy shit, it's Wayne? I thought they were better than that.

That being said, I am literally still waiting on them even telling me when a set of 760x ujoints and d30 balljoints are going to ship. I ordered them in like 2011. I used to recommend alljeep for everything till that happened, now I recommend northerndrivetrain... last time I heard anything about the order was in 2012 iirc, I'd have to check my email. It's been so long (and I've changed banks since then) that I've basically assumed they aren't showing up, which is good because I don't need them anymore.

I hope he either hires more people or slows down on order taking because something has to give and that is not the right way to run a business.

PS: he has a username on here. I remember finding it when I was trying to get my order straightened out. http://www.naxja.org/forum/member.php?u=49563

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I showed the pic of your engine to my friend Sam, and he said that he's never seen an LQ4 with that engine cover (the side pieces next to the main Vortec cover) so that's reassuring.
