on a seperate note. Im doomed. the drive shaft I was going to use it just too long. now I have to add build a drive shaft to the F-ing list.

Too long? That takes like 20 minutes. Much better than too short.

same... it's really nice to be able to just push my clutch down and roll back out of a sketchy situation.

HEY BUMP! WATCH THIS! probably wouldn't have happened if his ratchet shifter was working properly *or* he had a manual.

the way I see it

auto= less broken parts and less smiles

stick= more smiles and more broken parts
best argument for lifetime warrantied parts ever.

thanks ken. yea dont kill yourself over it. and I dont need the LSD. if you can find a 4.10 open Im fine with that. Ill probably just weld up the gears like on the 35 I run now.
OK, I know I saw at least one or two 4.10s there. I'll grab one if I can scrape the cash together and pull it before the nacfest caravan rolls by.

Related: taxes are supposed to come tomorrow and this company wants me to come back *again* to give a 20min presentation of an example EE project I did... things are looking really promising.

I am aware. that's my next step. I just don't want to piss him off too badly. he does have $400 of mine and a harness and ecm that I don't exactly want to have to track down again and replace.
wow that really blows.

yep. Even I can do driveshafts pretty damn well.

What diameter tube? If it is a stock XJ front shaft, 1.75 DOM fits perfectly inside it if you grind down the resistance weld seam with a die grinder, freeze the DOM, and heat the driveshaft tube evenly with a propane torch. Went in easily with a deadblow. I posted a whole series of pics of how I did it on facebook last summer/fall or so.

shit last drive shaft I built I just cut it in half with a pipe cutter. took 2 inches out of it. held it square with 2 pieces of angle and welded it back toegether. the U joint failed before the weld.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

planning on meeting at the first rest stop on 84? Any time worked out?

if anyone is interesting I should have an open seat in the jeep and in the truck for nac fest

Say 10am? Isn't that what we usually do?

Might be down to ride with you at Nac fest since there will be 3 of us in Pat's Jeep.

Also, I'd definitely be interested in riding back with you Sunday (at least part of the way) since we're going to be 3 up in the single cab of Pat's Aunt's truck.
