THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

those YJ/Waggy boxes are 4 bolts right? I think they're the same bore as a stock XJ box though...or at least the same size as the Durnago one

And i refuse to buy one from a parts store - too many screw ups in their rebuild process and crossed part #s.

Yeah 4 bolts, and ther fixed ratio compared to the xj having variable ratio, friend of mine also has one in his xj on 35's and a true trac guess we got the 2 out of 100 that are good

Yachting ain't easy

you got that right! any plans for Yachting things weekend? ****ing wacked a rock wall underwater yesterday about 20' off shore. sucks i have a plastic prop on my gay motor. luckily it didnt break. i already muckled one.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wrong. Not the same thing.

Yours is still a Saginaw box with a variable ratio, these are Delphi boxes with a fixed ratio.

I'm sure yours is still a great box, but its not the "exact same thing"

I've heard horror stories about parts store boxes, but I'm glad yours is working out for you.

I was out of options at the time the origanal 195k box out of this jeep was garbage just wouldn't turn for shit, also added a big ass cooler and lucas sythetic fluid when I did the new box shit is great

i bought a "new" durango box from napa for my old 93, it worked great when i had it but its garbage now. my buddy bought it from me when i parted the jeep out and it maybe has 15k miles on it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'd love to go PSC but don't have the coin. Found the AGR box used for $225. Just wondering if it's worth it over the $30 i would have to spend for a rebuild kit for my Durango box

I only remember a few years ago there were numerous issues with AGR stuff.

I wouldn't trust going with them.

I would save the coin and buy the PSC box when you can.

I had a bunch of AGR stuff, and I'd call it a waste. PSC or don't bother

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

roger that thanks bud

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I downgraded from a 4 bolt j10 box to a Durango box. fixed my death wobble and still turns big tires.

sack up and grow some muscles you pansies.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I didn't know big muscles make up for dead spots in steering boxes.

Who would have thought.

if you hit a dead spot, use more muscle. its not like there's a little dude inside there throwing a stick between the gears.

big muscles don't but knowing your rig does.

I have deathwobble coming from somewhere right now, not sure exactly where because there are a number of things wrong with my jeep (to say the least.) It tried to start wobbling a few dozen times on the way to and from the backyard a few weeks ago, only managed to actually start two or three times, and I killed it within 3 wobbles each time. Ask bradley, he's seen how I stop deathwobble without using the brakes :wow:

You and I have a different definition of dead spot. My definition is when you turn the wheel and nothing happens, not when you can't turn the wheel.

The sector shaft bearing in my brother's box was so wasted that the shaft itself was rocking back and forth when you turn the wheel producing a loud clunk.

Believe me I know. My truck has a huge deadspot due to the sloppy steering box. I just refuse to drop $400+ on a new box. Maybe eventually.

My brother's XJ drives so nice now that it is slowly changing my mind though...

Well yea, when a box sucks then theres no excuse, get another. You can crank down on the sector shaft a bit, but its all downhill from there regardless.

lol i remember doing that to my XJ box and it being awesome for like a week. then the steering wheel stopped returning to center.

Between the fact that there is visible play in my durango box sector shaft and the visible play in the steering shaft ujoint, plus the ****ed up alignment, I think that's probably 80+% of the reason I have DW

One of these days I will probably grab another at the junkyard. I dunno, I haven't felt like crawling under a durango in mud full of broken glass very much recently.
