THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

bushings closer to the block will create less distortion and keep the engine in place better. the closer to the center of the engine, the length of the lever trying to twist will be less. there will be more stress on the chassis mounts but you should have more room then to add additional bracing.

at least thats how I look at it.

I love these discussions. I would assume in any engine swap how high or low the engine sits is one of the biggest concerns. So that locations pretty much determines how far away from the engine and it's mounts are away from the frame. In turn determining how much room you have to play with bushing location. Which a good bit of which could be taken up by some bracing or whatever. You're most likely not going to play with how high up the bushings sit, outside of maybe a couple inches?

So, if you just finished reading that, you know you just wasted some valuable seconds of your life. I can only imagine you sit the engine in and everything just ends up where it ends up. :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I bet it doesnt matter. Stock xj bushings allow like an inch of play per side lol a regular sleeved suspension bushing like what everyone uses barely moves.

We can sit here all day pretending to be engineering experts or just realize it comes down to packaging and making it look cool so you can post pictures of it on the internet.

Motor mounts end up wherever it's easiest/most convenient.

everyone builds retarded/overkill motor mounts so all this retarded talk doesn't mean jack shit anyway.

All the guys i know that have them love them. One guy had a set and hes really rough on his tools(coming from a guy who frequently uses the back of his impact gun as a hammer) and his lasted about a year before he broke it in half.

Over all id recommend them. I think hilti makes the best power tools. But their like 4 times more expensive then most other tools. The 14.4v impact, charger and 2 lion batts are like 400$

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

cool beans. my stepdad has been using ryobi 18v drills (and i think has the same one from when they redesigned them years ago before they were marketed as one+) and has never had an issue except for the batteries eventually going bad. i'll probably pick the kit up this weekend, my dewalt 12v drill is old as hell and pretty much toast

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have a shitty set of Ryobi 18v cordless drill/sawzall/mini circular saw. Haven't had an issue with them and they're at least 8 years old.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I use a huge, 550 max rpm corded sears drill with a metal housing.

It predates craftsman. The thing will rip your arm off if you arent careful.
