THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's pretty much all I did for mine

I had to clock my NP241 straight up, so it was a little more forgiving trying to make it leak free.

I don't have to, but I noticed that on yours and tried to do it on mine just because I was curious. but the studs arent perfectly spaced apart. It can only go on one way.

I think I may have a hard time figuring how I want to clock it. I can do it about the same as the 205 is now and have it still above the framerail, and have a good front driveshaft angle. There is tons of room under there and I can bring it up plenty higher, but this is kinda a one time deal and don't want to regret the location I clock it to. would be nice to have a bit of space between the t-case and flat belly though.

I really do not want to put the 241 under the jeep and try to wrestle a beast of a 205 in there trying to figure out where I want it either.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh, and what did you do for 205 studs? the threaded holes go all the way through and hit gears if you thread them in til they bottom out.

I just threaded them in the thickness of the housing with some red loc-tite and let it sit overnight.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I put it in 4HI.

Once.

Just to make sure it still worked.

I needed 4hi just to get outta my driveway. appearently foxboro was one of the hardest hit, we had like 6". my tires suck in the snow, stupid highway tread pattern, I cant wait to get my new rims and at's on. new lug nuts should be here today, maybe ill swap them on tonight.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mine is a chevy NP241 and had bolts instead of studs.

I'm only using 5 of them since the 6th one was off.

I mocked everything up with both the 241 and 205 empty of gears. Significantly lighter and easier to get everything where I wanted it.

Also, double check that the studs aren't too tight of a fit through the clocking ring for the 205. Mine were so tight that I couldn't get all 6 through at once. I ended up opening up all 6 holes 1/32".

Since the studs he gives are really set screws (they have a hex drive on them) you can adjust the length they stick out/in. I just shot for a minimum of 3/8" engagement.

my np was a chevy too. maybe it originally had bolts. I prefer studs though, makes it easier to line up. but yea, i bet if i take one stud out i could mount it straight up. i always thought the 6 bolt t-case studs were all equally spaced.

as for taking the gears out. that would have been the smart thing to do. but my 205 is already all rebuilt and sealed up lol. I'll probably do that part at work and have it all at eye level with a tranny jack and get it pretty close to where I want it.

my roomate works in foxboro hand no one at his work could get out of teh parking lot until the plow came and clears out the driveway

we got ~2" in boston but i was a slush 2", hard a hard time parking in my drive way, all the trash barrels were out for the apartment complex next door, the douche bag neighbor in this teal mustang was parked in a way that i cant back out straight to align up and my landloard was in the other spot. i would line up nice and straight get in my spot then the truck would slide just a it on the ass end to make it a little **** eyed making so my land loard would not have a straight shot out when she would leave

with 10" wide stacks coming out the bed and a huge cummins sticker on the back glass
Then sit at stop lights with your foot on the throttle to rev it above acceptable idle and keep mashing it.
