I feel the exact same way. I got the Droid 2 shortly after it came out because I still wanted a keyboard. Now the keyboard is messed up, probably dirty and such, and it types like 2 or 3 letters whenever I press one ONCE. Now I use the touch screen one and will probably just get a phone with one now anyways.

Losing tach signal above 3500 rpm. Not sure exactly what is going on.

Why is tach signal important to your engine control? I thought that was basically just for driving the tach. Or is it the cps pickup equivalent for MS? Try hanging a scope on it and see why you are losing it, I have one you can borrow if you don't have one of your own.

droid razr maxx hd or samsung gs3. theyre announcing the LG nexus 4 monday, ive never been a LG fan but it IS a nexus.

Just looked...those are both 250+ buckaroos bah. I guess for me it's going to depend on how much free cash I've got the day my upgrade comes. Feel free to post all about the latest greatest phones come mid november :thumbup:

they dont got discounts or anything for ya? the razor hd for me was either 100 or 150

Without a tach signal it doesn't know how fast the engine is turning.

Once i hit over 3500, it goes nuts all over the VE map and leans it out.

Gonna post up my datalog on the msextra board.

I'm gonna ground the shielding on the tach signal wire and see if that helps.

I think it might just be noise.

Sucks because I got the cold start/idle/revving worked out pretty good, its just when the engine goes over 3500-4k it's all over the map.

I have no time to work on it tonight.

Debating on whether or not to bang in to work tomorrow and try to figure it out or just eff it and not take it. I don't feel like spending two days tuning the thing in the parking lot rather than just wheeling.

Just screw it, what's so great about driving a fuel injected 440 anyway .

oh shit I get an upgrade right before Turkey Day!!!! I think as much as I hate typing with a touch screen, I'm going to force myself to take the dive and get one without the physical keyboard. I really wanna be able to get an actually beefy case and I'm sure I'll eventually get used to not having a real keyboard.......

Yeah I think it's just going to be determined by what happens tomorrow.

I might take a half day/full day off. Even if I don't make Rocktoberfest, I really need to get it running well before it's really cold out.

I think the shield not being grounded is really messing up the tach signal.

Probably is. You also could have an incorrect sensor gap (if it's a reluctance pickup of some sort) and it's simply not getting enough flux at high RPMs to produce the voltage swing the MS module wants to see.

I gapped the reluctor with feeler gauges according to factory specs. I highly doubt it's that, but you never know.

I'm gonna start with grounding the shield.

I took tomorrow off so I'll give it hell for one more day. If I feel like I'm close / 90% there then I'll take it.

If not, we'll probably take T-pains rig.
