THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Lowest anywhere in NJ for diesel is ~$3.70 now, and about $3.35 for regular. $750 XJ for the win.
$3.89/gal base price.
-$0.30/gal from PriceChopper Card
-$0.20/gal from some nice lady in a towncar in front of me that was getting a car wash but didn't want fuel.

Cool. I'm 50/50 looking forward to that part of my project/dreading it. I get to deal with fun stuff like at ~4k RPM (even that threshold is tunable depending on everything else going on around the motor) sending an aux trigger output to the vacuum solenoid that opens the butterflies for the short intake runners, which also changes the slope of the fuel delivery curve. So there's effectively 2 fuel maps, one for the long intake runners and one for the short set.

Do the TBI throttle bodies have an integrated TPS, IAC, etc? Gonna use the built-in MAP on the MS?

Yeah that will be fun. There's 4 spare outputs from the MS, and 4 spare digital outputs if you're not using a stepper motor for idle control.

Yup. Integrated TPS and IAC (only using the middle throttle body sensors). Using the MAP built into the MS. CLT on the waterpump housing and the IAT to a bung welded into the air cleaner.

Once tuned, I won't even be using an O2 sensor so I'll just throw the plug back in.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I might be buying a suitable welder to do it. If you can find someone who can use it but just doesn't have the machine, they can use it.

Cool, ive welded aluminum before. Mig with a spool gun with success. Id probably **** around with the old case half a bit to make sure i dont suck. But it was cake. I just dont feel like buying something im gonna use once.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mike at ttf said he would have to get back to me on if he can weld up my doubler for me. If not who can do it and not rape me? Im not wheeling again til my driveline is awesome.

come to LI. we have TIG.

$3.39/gal diesel this morning and even at that "deal" it is way to high.

lol. diesel is $4.25 here. i paid $4 for 87 yesterday and thats cheap compared to last week.

Hey Travis, how you liking them tires?
I'm gonna need some when the snow starts coming down.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

They're sweet. If I downshift harshly out of laziness and the roads are wet, they'll slip a bit, or if I hammer down in the rain they'll spin...but that's my only faults with them so far, and I'm reaching at that especially considering it has the 135rwhp tune plus the fact that its a crew cab with an empty 8ft bed

I'd buy them again. Bonus points- they look cool.

I'll need the stepper outputs for the IAC, but I'll be using the MS3x so there's plenty of spares to go around.

Why no O2 sensor...isn't it all pretty much set up for it anyway?

Sweet. Any truck tire would probably spin in that situation.
Thanks for the feedback!

It'll be tig, why don't you try ****ing with aluminum wire in your mig? People say you need a spool gun but you keep the hose straight you can run it in your mig. You might need a new liner but that'll be ~$5.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I got my annular cutter set yesterday:

These things kick the shit outta any drill bit I've ever used. Just centerpunch & go...no pilot needed. Using the 3/4" one I put a clean hole through a piece of framerail in less than 10 seconds with no binding or wandering etc, not even pushing all that hard. Didn't kick at all when it poked through the other side...completely uneventful.

After about 10 trial holes in a bunch of different materials & thicknesses the 3/4" cutter still looked like it had never been used, and the smaller sizes all go even easier.

Definitely $60 well spent.

The t-cases are also shitty aluminum casting.

Ah ok. I'm using MS2 with the 3.57 board.

Yeah I would just have to run the wires down to the O2. It would mainly help with cruising throttle, if at all. I may add it in the future, but it's not necessary.
