my summer daily driver aint gonna happen, looked under the civic to find major rust, the "frame rails" and sectioned rotted away, so im takin the car out tomorow to have a little fun with it, if it dont break i may save it to race at the local 1/4 mile track

so i just got the driver side lower balljoint out of my 4.10 d30 with the help of an awesome old guy a few garage doors down. he's been in the alley for over 40 years, and used to own a legit MG restoration shop. let's just say since the stupid balljoint press wouldnt fit without a lot of persuasion or some lathe work to modify one of the sleeves, his oxy-acetelyne torch + a really good air hammer eventually rattled the balljoint out.

one side down, the other side to go. i need my N2 refilled to keep using the impact wrench. i'm going to try to find a cheap air compressor on craigslist to use. if i move the pile of tires back to my basement, i can have a corner to put it

I cut my bumper in the wrong spot! I'm an idiot! It looks like it'll be easy to fix though. Guess that teches me a lesson...

i cut more of my frt fenders today and rmoved the ac condenser

speakin of that theory, i started to make the final big piece for my bumper today. it will have 5 seperate bends in different directions, provide a flat surface on 6 planes, and i will bend 1/4" plate by hand. oh, did i mention i have no clue if its even gunna fit? figured id wing it and go from there:D

you should be able to set the ball joint up so that it works. just have to play with the configuration. what kind of press do you have? colin and i have the same harbor freight special and it works just fine (this might be the one time i condoned HF)
