THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So, its not that I can't afford them (I already have the big ticket items, and at the moment I should be saving money, the real world sucks), its that I can't afford the necessary time to enjoy them. No point in me being antisocial alone in my garage working on something that will give me one day a year of physical social gathering. That is why I'm focusing on scuba more this year: I enjoy it and it doesn't require me to do all this preparatory work to go enjoy myself.
Go wheeling more and work on the jeep less. It doesn't have to be in perfect shape to wheel... as long as it's not going to cause the unibody or anything expensive more damage, why not?

whoa whoa whoa. "my house"? That sounds to me like "hello sellers agent, please lead me to the slaughter and take however much money you want from me so I can have this house." You gotta lead them along and negotiate and act like you're doing them a favor by taking it for cheaper if you want a deal.

Hell, I still got taken. I paid 38 for my place, they paid 25.5 at auction. They probably ended up making a couple grand in profits after paying lawyers to fix the title, paying multiple real estate agents, paying taxes on it for ~2 years, etc. I got a good deal, but if I had pushed more I probably could have gotten even better.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'll lowball the shit out of them

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i dont have to have any house, i'll make a low offer, if they dont accept it then i'll move on to the next. i refuse to get emotionally attached to anything, lakefront property would be tits though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah that'd be awesome... nothing like drifting around in a lake in a kayak with a six pack of beer floating behind you :eyes:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that house reminds me of the price is right where they try to make a base model car sound awesome

"comes with an am/fm casette radio, rubberized floormats, fully functional rear hatch and a steel roof!, this item could be yours only if the price is right!"
thats how EVERY listing is, they highlight the finer points of the house, never telling what it needs. then we go look at it and realize they look 10x better in pictures.

I agree, and I've said in the past I don't get why everyone is always trying to go bigger and bigger and get their Jeeps to trailer queen status.

With that said, what you just said is why I'm not jumping into building another jeep. I already have the axles (which I haven't needed to modify or upgrade in years), the transfercase, and the stock drivetrain, etc. That is also why I'm keeping all the parts I want from my current Jeep. I'm not going to sell them only to have to redo all the work I've already done. They will sit in my garage or basement until I need them.

Not exactly contrary to the point you're trying to make, but I enjoy the design & fabrication part of this as much as I do the actual wheeling. KOH, Fall Crawl, whatever, it doesn't matter...what you're looking at is hundreds of peoples' different solutions to the same problem. Approaching it that way is what keeps it fresh and interesting for me, as each trail ride or race is as much a learning experience as it is a social event.

Why I choose this as my creative outlet is no different than why someone chooses to paint or make music...it's a physical manifestation of the culmination of my interests and abilities. It just so happens that it costs more than some other methods of expression.

lakefront is +5 points

lack of garage is -15 points

be sure to remember that when you put in your offer

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No garage...

that's how you make a small fortune in aviation, too.

EDIT: Adam while I agree that a driveway/garage would be nice for wrenching... I am doing just fine so far.

I like look of the floors in the kitchen/dining.

You can always build a garage and put in a different drive. Finding the location and/or house you want was priority number 1 when I was shopping.
