THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

I am the Director of Systems / Technology at a public school district.
That was the excavation guy who showed up this morning to work on my lot. I tell you though, watching this guy I sure got into the wrong line of work. He basically plays in a big kids sandbox all day every day.

I was the nightmare of the lady who did this at my district. Of course, she didn't know shit. How'd you get this gig? School jobs are tits, I wish I could be a custodian full time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I went to bed at 11 but slept like shit. Woke up at least 5 times. Was still feeling alright this morning until I threw my back out somehow a few minutes ago.

One time that I woke up I heard some loud clap sound and almost sounded like shouting... looked out the window and there was a cop rolling down the street real slow with his spot light on looking around. He then turned around right in front of my house, went maybe 50 feet back the other direction, turned around again, and took off. Must have been doing 50 or 60 by the time he was out of sight (in a 15mph neighborhood). No clue what happened :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Tried that. No luck. Going to heat it up and try that again. Time to go get large amounts of coffee and torches.

Newb question but do the lower ball joints come pre-greased? The upper joint has a grease fitting but the lower joint just has a plug (but came with a separate grease fitting).

IIRC the grease fitting doesn't clear the axle shaft so you have to leave the plug in there... so do I have to remove the plug, grease the joint, and re-plug it? Or is it pre-greased? Or am I being dumb and I just need to use the 90* grease fitting and it will clear the axle shaft?

pickle fork. bonus points if its attatched to an air hammer. as for the grease, when i come across a situation like that i install the fitting and pump it up with grease then put the plug on when its installed in the knuckles

Yeah, I can't find the pickle fork and don't feel like buying one for my air hammer just for this project. I got the knuckles off, a bit of heat did the trick.

About the grease: that's kinda what I was leanign towards doing. I'm going to try installing it with the 90* fitting and then throw the axle shaft in there... if the shafts clears then that's great... if not I'll throw the plug back in.

Now crossposting my newb question from oem tech: What this stuff that came with the ball joint (ignore the grease fitting and cotter pin)? Do I just ignore that threaded piece and the clip (are they for some other type of vehicle) or am I missing something important here? :dunce:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ah, alright. Thanks  Now that I got that out of the way I guess I don't have any excuses to not get back to work.

I really wish this snow would accumulate on the road. I don't have my front driveshaft in and want to go XXXX around.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That went together easier than expected except for one mis-drilled cotter pin hole.. cotter pin didn't even fit through the thing, nevermind that it was drilled off center and wouldn't line up.

Now for the all-telling test drive. Really hope this fixed my issues (though the passenger side ball joints were definitely shot and needed to be done anyway so if not, at least I got it done. I didn't even check the driver's side after seeing how the passenger side was)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just woke up

For my next trick I will finish fixing the blue mj, fix the white mj, and pull a rabbit out of my ass

Saw this leaving Brooklyn this morning

Pretty neat, the carrier clicks into the hitch and looked like there was a lever to get with your foot to release it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Holy shit the steering feels so much better with new balljoints. Still get a bit of a wobble at certain speeds but feels a lot better than it used to, probably just tire balance issues or something since the rest of the front end is new (except control arm bushigns but I'm not replacing those). I'll throw a steering stabilizer on there just for shits and giggles and see if that helps dampen it out at all.

Started out as a part-time summer job helping throw in some new computers in a lab. Worked my way slowly up the ladder jumping on things like HVAC and the security systems and then headed the new servers. I took over the head position this past year. I do like my job, it isn't at all what I went to school for or thought I'd be doing, but only reporting to the superintendent is a nice thing.

That's awesome. I wish districts were like that on the island.. They're all corrupt as XXXX and getting a fulltime position is ridiculously hard. I'd kill for that job.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Fingers crossed, I think I found a new car.
