THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How many of you cool 3 link kids would come to my house to help me build one for my Jeep this winter. I'll have heat, beer, and food for anyone who knows more than I do.
ill probably buy a kit when my tax return comes in

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Keith, just set your axle at full bump and build everything to clear.

Get like 8" of separation at the axle, and as much as you can at the frame side while keeping the UCA somewhat parallel to the ground and the LCAs reasonably tucked up.

I think they're going on the bottom of my rails tucked against my cross member .Not entirely sure I trust my cross member to handle the LCA's on them. The load isn't spaced out too much on both sides But looking at Clayton's shit mine is way stronger. Upper will go where ever it fits, I don't give a shit about my floor.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

3 and 4 link KITS might as well be radius arms. they have like no separation at the frame end

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why do people put all the responsibility on the BOD (per members forum).

Friggin get out and do something if you don't like the way the club is. You don't have to be a member of the BOD to organize a M&G or wheeling event.

Do you even need their approval to make it NAXJA sanctioned?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

3 link kit with 7/8 steering ordered. Made some changes to the 3 link, but it balanced out to almost the same price as the base advertised kit. Should ship out tomorrow. Now when I get my order from Doug at Extreme I can lock myself away in the garage for a little while. but I need to fill the propane mushroom heater.

Edit: None of you guys have 8-10 feet of 1.5x.25 DOM kicking around I could buy right? If I could cancel that part of the order that'd be purddy cool.

Nope.

There's been some murmurs about trying to get a NJ/PA meet & greet together, but it dissolves because everyone bitches about it being too far for them or on a bad day, and no one wants to be the asshole that picks the date that doesn't work for anyone.

I haven't been getting involved in those discussions because I've been at the mercy of other peoples' planning for the last 3 months. But if anyone ever settled on a date & location I'd sticky it like anything else.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i make meet and greets around my schedule and people always end up going to them.

i must be awesome

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That SWAG thing is pretty cool, hadn't seen that before. The ability to come in from different angles would definitely be nice.

I've had some pretty XXXXed up positioning of my notcher in order to get its fixed angle of attack to work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If it does, I don't know it.
I don't think many people do, because they all started to agree and say they like breakfast too.

This goes for everyone.
No excuses for those of you thinking of missing the Jan. ChickenFest. I don't care if you need to take a train, ride a bus, catch airfare, or build a space shuttle with new NASA funds, BE THERE.
I'll probably be there. You sure as hell know I was at the last one, I turned that into my own little event in Sam's backyard.

Good thing this isn't a week later, because then I would be going to maine. As it is, my company is moving that friday, and I originally planned to spend most of the weekend in at the new place setting stuff up in my lab (yes my lab, I'm in charge of it), but that is a bit inconvenient since I payed for this trip before we even knew where we were moving to or when.
You need to come to more meet and greets.

Also, I'm thoroughly convinced I need to buy a tube notcher.

Any one better than the other?

I was thinking JD2 notchmaster and the SWAG swingarm.
Which one was it that this is in reference to?

Unnecessary. (the notchmaster and swingarm)

But get it so I can use it in a year or two. :)

I had a TN-100, the only benefit of the notchmaster over the TN-100 is it'll do offset notches. Which I never needed to do really.

The few times I needed it, I just stacked some washers under the pipe jig and it worked fine.

I definitely found some creative ways to use that damn thing...you'll wanna do yourself a favor and pick up one or two of the extra deep holesaws too.
I'll x2 to this all. We have a TN-100 back at school, it worked great and we got creative.

Already have!
I can vouch for this. I talked to him and angel about Scuba diving.

Extra hands and moral support don't hurt, fat head. :moon:
You still planning on narrowing?
