THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My buddy w/the junkyard just bought one of those yesterday for a winter beater car, except he got the cool one. 1981 SX/4:

Needs a front driveshaft, which may or may not mean the viscous coupler in the t-case is toast (it's one of the earlier 1981 models that's 4wd only). I'm gonna work on it this weekend and see what's up.

They actually have a front Dana 30 and a rear Dana 35.

i would rock an sx4 in a heartbeat. they are super hard to find though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How difficult is it to turn the crankshaft over by hand? Just use a breaker bar on the balancer bolt?

Good question, I don't remember for sure 100% but I believe thats what we did. I remember it being a pain in the ass because it was dark out and what AllData was telling us wasn't really making much sense, but we got it figured out. Scott is a gorilla so I'm sure turning over via the balancer bolt wasn't a problem for him hah

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

We're not building it.

And I built my entire jeep in a tent. Where did you build yours Bill?

Oh thats a right a garage that I would consider heated.

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm taking a couple days off next week and probably gonna finish my 200 dollar 12x12 jeep tent and put down a ghetto plywood floor.

I now know that I can build the frame for my next house alone if I decide to, it really wasn't that bad.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I dunno, it was pretty XXXXin cold in there when we did your truss. :looney:

You've never worked in my tent.

Sure it keeps rain or snow from actually making contact with you, but there's always water on the ground in puddles if it's raining/snowing. No matter how well you dam the outside (my father and I tried multiple times).

And I doubt Bill had the door open if he could help it. I know I wouldn't.

Aside from a few small projects here and there, I haven't worked on my jeep inside anything in over a year.

Ya its better than working outside definitely.

But sometimes it doesn't help with motivation.

I like having a lazy day every now and then.
