THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My mom and I talked last night about getting rid of her Jeep and getting 2 new cars for us to share. The first would be something like a Civic or a Subaru and the other would be a diesel truck. The diesel would be driven by her because her commute is a lot shorter than mine. Thoughts???

I think its a pretyy good idea speaking of diesel trucks anyone wanna loan me 8k so I can get kazus truck

Your mom is cooler than my mom

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony or anyone who rides: what is a good site to get inexpensive gear? I decided that I need some cold weather gloves ASAP on the ride in today. :laugh3:

Ditto. Though my mom does drive a suburban so I could use that to tow if it's ever necessary... but it's still not a diesel truck.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Is your mom buying both of those vehicles Adam?

That would be badass.

Then you could fix up a cheap trailer and have a tow rig.

She's definitely not going to buy both vehicles. I'm not sure if we can afford a truck. Also, the thought of who the truck technically belongs to if both of us were putting $$$ into it could become a sore subject. I'm not a fan of that. She does need a new car though. I might see what I can get for an interest rate from the bank or getting a truck financed.

Travis, if you don't mind me asking, what are you paying every month for your truck? If I got a truck I'd end up buying something for ~12-15K and putting the ~4K that i'm getting from the civic as a down payment on it. Either that or get a $4-5K Civic and drive it for a year or so and save up some $$$ for a truck. Hopefully when I want a truck some dumbass will nail my Civic and i'll get some $$$.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Adam, I'll PM you :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I thought you were just planning on keeping your XJ street legal so you could drive to/from the trail?

Yea, I do. But after a while of wheeling it, she's not going to want to drive to the trails anymore. I'm just trying to get ahead of the game in the sense that when I don't feel comfortable driving it to the trail i'll be ahead of the game.

Plus, a plush tow rig would be nice. Especially going to Moab in 2013.

I hear ya.

You looking for one as a DD? Or dedicated tow rig?

after 9 hours in my truck on Sunday Justin and I were surprised to find ourselves saying we wouldn't have any problem staying in the truck for another 4 or more hours...aka I think I want to do this trip with you fellas, and I plan to make it there in a couple days tops

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And then they end up on the side of the highway.

Ditto, I wasn't sore at all.

I'm almost thinking of going 2014 instead to the 30th anniversary, but not sure I'd be able to wait that long to go

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Speaking of street legal, just got a text. Jeep is inspected and ready to go

Now I just have to get the drivers side window back onto the rail tonight so I can drive it to work in the rain tomorrow.

Thanks for the link. Already have a pair of gloves and a rain suit in my shopping cart. The internet makes it far too easy to spend money.

Then again I may hold off on the rain gear until next spring. I want to keep an eye on some of the discount type stores in the area. A guy at my sat morning dui course knows one of those discount stores that occasionally gets motorcycle gear at HUGE discounts (he said he picked up a $250 helmet for $80 or something like that, and they had other gear). I forget the name of the place right now but I'm going to start checking there weekly for a new helmet and other gear over the winter hoping for off season deals, then buy winter gear and a rain suit next spring if I don't find something before then then.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just made a quick calculation and I think i'm going to hold off on getting a truck until I get my finances in order a bit more. I've got a few loans hanging over my head right now that i'd like to get out of. So the search for a DD Civic continues!

that would be cool for sure. I wouldn't mind waiting another year. Maybe do KOH 2013 and Moab 2014 for the anniversary? hmm? hmmmm?

A couple days?

Shit, I made the Hammers in 42 hours.

Let me know when y'all are going anywhere, I'm down. Especially if it involves running stock mod class at KOH 2013. :D
