THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So everyone should base their updates off of what the newest social networking site requires.

Got it.
Yes, that's exactly what I was referring to. Social networking is the priority here.
My farts are lethal today.
They were pretty terrible last night too.

I can't wait to eat the leftovers for lunch today :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

went and looked at mia's car, I'm gonna post some pictures and you fellas can post up whatcha think it'll need. I didn't open the hood because I was afraid I wouldn't get it shut again, but as much as I could see, the unibody rails looked straight, rad support might be a little tweaked but no biggie, didn't see any leaks, at least not easily noticable...Definitely gonna need a PS fender, hood, bumper and whatever BS they use to mount that, grill (maybe) and headlight (maybe).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Back to the topic of what browser we use(again): The work network is running IE7. Google+ won't even run on it (not that I should be going there @ work anyway...) but really. This is how you know when it's time to update your system.

we just pushed IE7 to all the bank branches last week, over half of them were running IE6

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm leaning towards having her tell the shop to do it... Not really worth the hassle/hidden expenses and time it'll take to do it...Thoughts?!?!?!?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How much will the repairs cost if you do it vs a shop? If there's little difference I vote shop. Your time is worth something too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Have them do it. That's gonna need some of the foam bullshit stuff replaced and i'm guessing that there are a couple braces that need to be straightened/replaced.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would probably say shop but idk what it looks like under that. I think all the small stuff like headlight brackets, rad supports, etc would start to get tedious.

I think I jizzed in my pants a little.

[pics removed]

Remove some stuff like the front stinger, and the front TJ flares.

That is pretty slick. That is pretty much EXACTLY what I planned on doing if I ever get around to a chop on mine. Granted I have enough trouble motivating myself to do steering (or hell, even getting the damn Jeep ready for inspection is taking me long enough) so I'm guessing I won't be cutting the roof off any time soon. But hey, it's nice to know what it could look like when all is said and done if I ever get around to it :laugh3: Edit: Except the taillights and stuff, I didn't notice the work done there.

And the father decided he would probably take my brother's envoy to the shop for a new bearing/hub instead of waiting for me to do it this weekend. On one hand I'm glad I don't have to do it. On the other hand I wish he would just wait and pay me to do it (though I know if he did wait I would be expected to do the work for free so I guess I don't really care)

^ Smart.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yep, that kind of stuff was my main concern. I was just hopeful it would be minor stuff I could easily take care of and put some money in her pocket...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if it was my own car I'd totally "fix" it myself and hack it together and take the cash  butttt it's hers, so I want it done right

That car is new enough that I think I'd want it done correctly no matter if it were mine or hers.

I don't think anyone has asked this yet.... She is ok, right?

haha, I almost said "just hack that shit together and save some money" but then I realized that I too would do my best to 'do it right' if it were a friend's car rather than my own. Which is why I said shop.

I wouldn't care if mine was done correctly because I want to unload it asap anyways. The cash would be welcomed fo sho.

And yup she and the dumb old blind man are both fine. No airbag action even, she was only going like 15 when he cut her off

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hate stupid people! ARHGHASDHDASDHG!

Our production team pulled the equivalent of a car manufacturer seeing the check engine light on during production (on numerous cars) and saying "meh, seems good enough" and shipping them out. Either that or they just failed to look at the 'check engine' light all together and said "well everything seems to be good, ship it"... still trying to figure out which one of the two it was and I'm not sure which scenario would be worse

LOLOL.

Sometimes I miss being a mechanic but definitely not on these hot days. We were in a garage in a basement too so it was cooler then a regular 4-bay garage.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so the insurance company wants to know what she wants to do with it...but apparently they don't know the decisions on who's at fault and won't until Friday... if she's gonna have the shop fixing it, is there any reason she should/shouldn't wait to find out who's at fault first? I don't know how this insurance BS works so just figured I'd see if any of you duders have any experience/tips related to any of it
