Re: The NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Robin Trower - Day of The Eagle. killer. The whole 'bridge of sighs' album kicks ass.
So I got a bunch of little stuff done today:
- XXXXed up the new clutch line, repaired the old one, put it back in, I have a clutch again
- turns outmy donor SHO had a badass car alarm, the siren is now my new Line Mountain horn
- stripped out one of the steering box bolt holes trying to tighten it; had to customize a 7/16" nut to fit around the webbing on the box but now that's tight again
- found about 9 loose bolts on various suspension components
- cleaned up all the wiring for the new winch
- installed new bumpstop on the front left coilover; awaiting delivery of new spring seat
Tomorrow I get to:
- tackle the exhaust collector bolts; the whole shittin' thing is about to fall off the truck
- replace the bolts/nuts that hold the driver side motor mount to the frame, apparently that side hasn't been doing much of anything
- replace the trackbar heim on the frame side, XXXXer has like 1/4" play
- maybe start the sector shaft/pitman arm brace thing I've been planning
- check front wheel bearings etc.
- rip the rest of the interior out and go over all t-case bolts/driveshaft u-joints etc
This race prep stuff really puts a whole new perspective on maintenance. After what I did today and am gonna do tomorrow, I have a really good feeling about this Line Mtn race...but it's still amazing that *something* will still find a way to ruin your day most of the time.
I can't XXXXin wait for this one though...the Line Mtn races are unbelievably fun. I'm totally psyched even though I have a lot of work left.
Brooklyn Brewing Co. summer ale kicks ass too, btw.
