THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It should be fun!
I get to stay home at work rather than going down.

I am going to take a couple vacation days that week though which should be nice. Torn between spending lots of time on the Jeep and relaxing in the pool all week :laugh3:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

OMG YOUR SHIT'S GONNA FOLD IN HALF AND LEAK TOXIC FUMES INTO THE CAB AND CAUSE SEVERE PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR DEATH

Isn't that what you told me yesterday?

Nah, Adam said they leak unless you crimp the shit out of them.

I said I crimp the shit out of them and then they're impossible to get back off.

But this exhaust won't be coming back off until the 440 goes in next winter.

And if it has to come off earlier, I'll just hack it off.

You should have seen my exhaust before I got the dynomax cat back last summer and re-did the entire thing.

Every time I had to take the exhaust off for anything I just cut it and slapped on another union and two more U-clamp things put it back together.

I'm pretty sure I must have set a new record for the number of clamps to come off an Jeep's exhaust.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's a small world after all...
Yeah really. I still remember years back when I was a kid my brother and I always said that my father knew people wherever he went. He would always run into someone saying "hi Dr. Bob" in any store or whatever.. anyway, we went to Disney and joked saying "lemme guess you will run into someone you know all the way down here"... he did.

It was actually my choice to stay home, same thing happened last summer when the family went to the cape.

I actually enjoy it like this. I hate taking more than a couple days off in any given week... I don't need a full week off. In the 2 years I have been with my company I think I have used a grand total of 5 or 6 vacation days. One of those was for a wedding and one was for my brothers graduation.

Plus I get the house to myself for the week. Take a couple days off, have a long weekend, then a short week. I get to take over the garage and set up the welder, torches, etc w/ no worries about getting a "clean that up, I want the garage tonight" demand from the parents. I get to relax around the house/pool with some quiet rather than the kids siblings screaming and running around. It's quite relaxing :) All week I can just have random people stop by and hang around, throw a party one or two nights. Grill meats all week. If I get home from work late chances are some friends will be hanging around the pool with a cooler of beer when I get home.

So yeah, I get the house to myself that week when the folks are in florida and then the family is going to the cape again the week of July 4th so I get the house again. Can't wait. I may go visit on the cape for a day or two but haven't decided that one yet.

So I think I'm going to weld a 1/2-20 bolt to the bottom of my shifter, and then thread a female-shanked heim onto that.

Then tab welded to shifter knub sticking out of trans, tab welded to shifter, then two pieces of flatstock between them with a bolt going through them and the tabs on each.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:roflmao: Holy XXXX I skipped right over that.

Internet law: buried amidst an exceedingly verbose reply intended to showcase the intellectual superiority of its author, one will almost always find a spelling error that threatens to expose the author as a lingual dilettante.

This is when he comes back and says "It was a joke, I meant to do that." :sure:
