Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ive only seen the need for gas and tcase skids, ive smached in gas tanks to the point they wouls batley hold 11 gallons, and eventually leak, ive also had 231's with chunks missing

i had a belly skid on my jeep. and a ninja rock got up over the skid and poked a hole in my case.

it was effing dumb.

jb welded that shit and drove it for the next 3 years before replacing it in arizona because the guy who had the parts i needed to fix my shift forks also had a spare case half.

sonofa. Got the PS pump in today, all hoses run, everythings read to go... went to put the belt on and it won't fit. :smsoap: Thinking the alternator pully is a bit bigger and is preventing the belt from going on? Pulling the alternator tomorrow or thurs and swapping the XJ pully on and hoping for the best.

Oh and it was supposed to be nice tomorrow. Now it's supposed to be raining tomorrow. I just sold my only running car. 2 wheels it is

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's funny reading build threads about vehicles that I don't know much about, and seeing what other enthusiasts consider big projects or out-of-the-box builds.

I read through a few Explorer builds to start getting an idea of what people do with the front ends as far as trussing, long travel, etc. Seems pretty easy to get to the 14"ish travel I want. Often it seems like the limiting factor is tire clearance to the fenders/bumper/wheelwell.

I'm thinking that I'm gonna try to avoid posting on Explorer forums. I'm not sure my project would go over too well. In more than a few threads, replacing the frame-side radius arm bushings with heims or uniballs is a *big deal*.
For suspension, check out http://www.dezertrangers.com, you have to search a bit for the 4wd, but its there.
Back when I was still in HS, I helped a friend do a SAS on his explorer. He put up a build thread, and got almost nothing but people saying that it was a deathtrap, or people in awe over what he had done. Granted that was the first thing either of us had really built, and there are some things I would change now, but it was still well built, the explorer crowd just isnt very adventurous.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i need a 1310 yoke for my 44 and my 60, and a high steer arm for my 44. cheapest site to get both things, tell me now go!

I would estimate that I have thrown away over 2 billion dana 44 1310 yokes.
