I dislike sport bikes,
says the guy who owned an r6

I dislike sport bikes,
if i get a bike, some idiot on her cell phone will run me over.
why? lol
yeah yeah sportsers are for girly men, but i've yet to see any full size harley that i like. they all look like old mens bikes. and no i have not ridden for an extended period of time, in fact i have never driven a street motorcycle, only dirtbikes and four wheelers.
no way you guys would ever see me wheeling again.
Really? Granted I've never riden a Nightrain, but isn't it only like 4" longer than the Sportster?I dislike sport bikes, and I dislike sportsters because they're even to small for me. Check out the Nightrains.
I'm not really a bike guy (wifey says no), but I'd be the opposite. Heck my buddy has a 600RR and wants to trade it in for a Softtail, another just traded some Suzuki something for a Hardtail.Don't even get me started on Harleys... I'd never ever buy one and I will do my best to dissuade anyone who is thinking of getting one. I don't have a problem with that genre of bike, just HD.
My whole thought process is thisMy whole thought process is jeeps > bikes.
Maybe I'll look at them in the future.
But I highly doubt it.
Fact: I don't know what is stopping the suspension from compressing in either end of my Jeep right now. The rear used to be limited to roughly 1 inch uptravel from the shocks, but one ripped off so I replaced them with shorter ones.but it seems an airbump would be more forgiving than an inch of rubber or like some tardmuffins, thier shocks.
something up there has to stop the suspension from compressing, and all the force will end up in the unibody anyway regardless of what kind of bumpstop you have.
Zing. nice one.So...
nothing would be different...?

my next build (after buildings) will be something with a 60s/70s body and a nice loud big block V8.
How about Victory bikes? You guys have any experience? Some of them look pretty sharp.
Bullet list of why I dislike HD:I'm not really a bike guy (wifey says no), but I'd be the opposite. Heck my buddy has a 600RR and wants to trade it in for a Softtail, another just traded some Suzuki something for a Hardtail.
Well, if you ever decide to get one, speak up. I'm more than happy to teach anyone to ride (on your own bike). The last thing I want is a friend of mine going face first into a guard rail. I saw a bad bike accident Friday afternoon... No bueno. My whole thought process is this
Mark buys a bike --> Mark dies on bike.
I don't give in to peer pressure. I don't think you could dissuade me.
How does that relate to what I said? There are more sport bike accidents that are self caused than cruiser accidents. I tie that statistic not to the bikes being harder to control, but people riding beyond their ability. Two different subjects. And there are plenty of retards that ride crotch rockets.
What's your point?
I've noticed that the HD name carries an air of douchebaggery. I've known some really nice guys and as soon as they sit down onto their HD they're an instant asswipe. This doesn't hold true for everyone, but I've noticed it on more than one individual. I'm happy to ride with whoever and whatever they want to ride, so long as they're nice to me and know what they're doing (a lot like what Bob said).
The other thing I don't like about it is that people who own/ride them also often get stickers, sweatshirts, hats, jackets, boots.... you name it. It can be such a cult.
A lot of HD riders aren't good riders. They just go cruise and wouldn't actually know how to handle the bike in an emergency. The amount of lean it takes to 'drag pipes' isn't very much at all.
I'm specifically not calling all HD or chopper riders asshats or bad riders, but there are a lot out there.
When was the last time you saw someone wearing a Yamaha sweatshirt? This whoooooooole rant applies to people beyond the scope of those riding HDs.
Heritage or not, I don't care. You're already at such a disadvantage wrt safety and being hit by cars, why ride something that puts you further at risk?Anthony, I think the point of Harleys is to seem like driving a boat, its their heritage. They aren't meant to be taking turns at 90mph, or to be weaving in and out of traffic, or to be pulling wheelies down the highway. Just think of how the older luxury cars used to drive, the old cars were literally battlewagons, they were boats on wheels.
I agree, there are just as many retards that ride crotch rockets, maybe even more.
