Unless the body is a total disaster.

That's the reason I'm thinking it's that cheap.

Either that or the guy has no clue what they're worth, if it's a 24V.

If it's a 1st gen or early 2nd gen 12V then $3k probably isn't an amazing price.

Appearently, they guy were doing a lift for right now has a CTD with 100k on it for $3000. Im tryin to get more specs on it now, I may just buy it regaurdless of what it is. For that price, ill deal with an auto even

Check the side of the block for a number 53 in a circle, if there is its a bad block they are prone to cracking due to poor casting. Some last for ever but us being in the north east with temps that go from 0-100 in 2 days you run a greater risk. If no number or a number thats not a 53 its a good deal.

i hate this stack on this and all the stickers. You think its a good deal?

I see nothing mentioned about an upgraded lift pump. Stay far away, that injection pump is probably on it's last legs with those mods.

Already had this discussion.

Don't buy a Cummins with work, i have been dealing with mine since i bought it in aug. and im just getting all the bugs out. Look for a stock non molested truck it will last much longer.

100% agree.

I bought mine stock so there are no hidden problems.

Yep... :banghead:

In the future that's what I'll be doing. It costs more in the long run, but it's nice to know that it's clean. I've basically taken apart and put backtogether everything except the drivetrain on my VW now, so I know everything is all set. But it wasn't for a long time...

In other news:
Still no Detroit. I have a tracking number and it's en route. Haven't heard back from him about the RockCrusher/RockStomper mix up yet... I think it's been over a month since I paid. At least my junk isn't in a rush.

Still no 5.13T rev rot. His first child was born the day after he sold them to me... I'm going to cut him some slack on this one.

How does it cost more...?

If anything it costs less. You don't spend time/money fixing someone else's screw up, and you don't end up paying more upfront for someone elses "modifications".

Win/win to me :dunno:

as soon as i put a jump pic as my profile facbook pic, people want to be my friend

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm in another conference call that has little to do with me.

Someone bitched that my speakerphone was too loud so now I have to keep the handset glued to my head for 2 hours.

One funny thing, discussing 'power of attorney' in regards to signing customs documents...this guy from Germany keeps saying 'power of eternity'.

Gotta find humor where you can...

The modifications don't increase the price of the vehicle for buying and selling. If anything, it brings down the price. I've found that you tend to get more hardware for the same (or less) money. The only problem is that you have to, like you said, make sure it was done correctly and often times it wasn't.

On Jeeps, yes. On everything else, especially where they have paid someone to do the work, no. They believe that all labor is included as a "modification" and therefore put all that money as well as the money for the parts in the asking price, since they believe its worth more now.

Heh, Enrish is a funny language.

A friend of mine told the joke 'Why is 6 afraid of 7?' (because 7 8 9) to his Chinese friends while studying abroad in China and from the sounds of it and they reacted like it was the funniest thing they'd ever heard.

That works for Jeeps, not when it comes to CTDs.

People throw on a tuner and show pics of their truck with stacks and they think it adds $3k to the selling point.

Sad thing is dumb kids buy them, so the market value of them doesn't drop.

We've agreed on far too much stuff lately.

Harry Potter sucks dick.
