THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Your Grizzly Adams face is dumb
It was warm during the winter. I went into summer mode 2 weeks ago and buzzed it all down to 1/8".

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You *really* don't want to make me this offer.
I'm almost tempted to.

Stuff that can break:
* front axle. Oh no, hundred bucks max and it's fixed. Cost me zero dollars last time thanks to Rob.
* rear axle. Oh no, hundred bucks max and it's fixed. I have everything except gears and a housing sitting around as spares free thanks to Ross.
* driveshafts. 20 bucks each max... I have a few fronts and getting a rear soon.
* motor, tranny, transfer case. 120 bucks each, max, and it's fixed... and I have a spare of each.
* fuel tank. 50 bucks and it's fixed. I have a spare that's had a hole patched.
* bumper. I've been trying to kill the damn thing for months. Cost me 100 bucks. If it gets broken I'm either chaining it to a tree and bending it back, or ripping it off and building one that doesn't suck.
* sheetmetal. As long as it continues to drive I aint fixing it.
* Glass. 25 bucks a piece max and it's fixed. I have some spares on hand.
* control arms. I have a set of spares with me at all times
* steering. I have a set sitting at home, have bounced it off rocks at full throttle with no damage. It cost me 10 bucks

:dunno:

Like I said, getting it home and still having a windshield in it is my only real worry.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why do you try so hard to troll me? It's annoying.

It's my other interest. Almost as fun as wheeling.

:D

I'll quit if it bothers ya that much, not trying to piss ya off.

I'm just so amped to get out there and wheel and don't understand how people take on huge projects and aren't amped to get out there and work on it.

Oh, and the motor isn't afraid of redline either... I've had it just below rev limiter on the highway for hours at a time in second gear.

I just remembered I do have to stuff the durango box in it before it gets wheeled again though, I tried to tighten one of the bolts a few days ago and it stripped the remaining threads out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nah, too slow.

If it's still got the stock gears it should do between 60-70 at 4th gear redlined in low range.

You wouldn't believe how quickly things fall apart when racing.

oh yeeeeaaaaa

I have no money or time for trips like this right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My balaclava arrives today. No more cold head and neck on my bike.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's too close to NACFest. I can usually fix my POS before the next weekend but seriously, don't have time for it. NACFest is basically the only trip outside of new england I have planned this summer and even that is pushing it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I too cannot wait for wheelin.... Im currently sitting outside on campus with the sun beating on me wishing I was hammering on my XJ right now... to bad it still dont run...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm wheelin and going to junkyards on weekends for the next month
what junkyards?

I gotta hit Sam's for a set of 8.8 brakes for Ryan when I get a chance, and I'm sure there are things on my list that I forgot. I know I need two fan shrouds and maybe an e-fan or two as well.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Last race carnage report...I had a broken rear link bolt, two bent rear coilovers, a front driveshaft that was falling off of the t-case, a loose clocking ring on the t-case, two worn out lower kingpin bearings, a missing front bumpstop (and a leaky front shock as a result) and a broken motor mount bolt. And that still finished the race.

Obviously you can fix it. I thought the challenge was that I couldn't break it. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have leftover spaghetti
Tuna + little mayo + Lettuce + 1/2 slice white American cheese + wheat bread.
so then i pitched the idea of white wagon wheels
WINNER!

Winter (235/45R17 I think...)
Didn't those just ride all the way back with someone from PA for you? What is wrong with those now?

I'll never understand winter/summer wheels deal. Get a vehicle that doesn't need them.
Different strokes for different folks is all.
Tweezers?

While we are talking about wheels; I want these wheels (not the tires) for my truck, but like many others I also realize that money is better spent elsewhere.

The challenge is that you can't break anything that I can't fix by the next weekend so I can go wheelin again :D

After the first few trips where I drove it like I stole it and broke all the iffy junk (front axle, UCAs, then transfer case) it has been damn near perfectly reliable. Every fix I've done since then has been a dirt simple 15 minute one, aside from the optional upgrade type stuff like when I replaced my half ass tranny line patches with actual rerouted lines, that took me a couple hours.

I understand it, I have awesome snow tires for the MJ for next season and don't want to run them in the summer. I also don't want to be mounting and dismounting tires all the time and tearing up the beads.
