Yeah, that is what I would think too, but I'm telling you it has happened to me. I broke like two sets of 5/16's center pins, but only bent 3/8's pins. I never had a leaf pack slide much, only enough to break/bend the pins. The u-bolts kept everything in place. Maybe its the low gears... this was on 4.56's w/ a 4:1.

Wow. I've seen some scary pictures of stuff like that happening too.

Did you have a traction bar at the time?

So wall thickness is 0.1635 so less than 3/16"

How much is it going to suck drilling through leaf springs?

Carmelo got me some carbide-tipped masonry bits due to some advice I read on Pirate from guys like ashman.

I don't want to run the stock center pins (5/16") for two reasons, one they're small and two Ross already drilled out the holes in the UBE plates for 9/16" heads which 3/8" socket cap bolts have.

Dont be pussy, just drill them out.

you tatds need to make sure your ubolts are tight, thats why you keep killing center pins, i run harder then everyone here(with the exception of chris and sam) and have yet to kill a center pin

Johnny was supposed to change it that a little while back, but we never got around to actually doing it.

also any one got s-10 leaves or know anyone with some for cheap? zr2 leaves are perferred but not nessarsery

Im hoping my 5/8" bolts take care of any center pin issues, the traction bar will control all the other wacky forces going on. Or maybe I'll run slapper bars :greensmok
