When I restarted my XJ for the first time in months when it had been sitting I had to do the same thing. It almost seemed like it was the battery/idle control had to re-learn what to do. Never really investigated it further.

Did Bills coolant temp sensor suggestion fix it?

nope. im gonna put fresh gas in it and then start it and let it run for a while. i did take the battery out so maybe the comp needs to reset itself.

Good luck. Let me know if one thing magically fixes it. After I held my foot on the gas for a bit to make it idle I could shut it off and turn it on no problem and let it idle just like normal. I think I even started it up after it cooled down and it was fine... Hopefully yours is the same.

edit: I forgot to mention that my battery was totally dead and had to be jumped when all this happened.

I hate trying to figure out what seats to get.

I can't sit in them.

I have to go by my only frame of reference: Bill's Beard Ultras.

I like my Coabeau Baja RS's Very comfy and the back adjusts. Pricing is pretty reasonable too, compared to others. I MAY be able to get you a good deal on them through Morris 4x4, if you want to go that route. Corbeau has the seat brackets for an XJ with the slider (separate), but you'll have to adapt it to the MJ.

I'm not dealing with Morris4x4.

They wouldn't take the gift certificates Kate and I won at NACfest because they were a few weeks expired. I didn't realize they had expiration dates on them since they were in the envelopes.

Not to mention the guy I was speaking too was not in any way shape or form helpful.

So far I've ordered today:

- RCI 2161 Fuel Cell
- $110 worth of misc hardware for assembly
- 6' of 2.25 OD x .250 W DOM from speedymetals for 2 rear driveshafts
- Rear axleshaft flange gaskets
- Correct crossmember bushings/hardware kit for the D20 adapter

Gonna give the seat companies some calls now...

I'm not dealing with Morris4x4.
