$450 is a pretty not bad price.

I think I need to read more of the thread for that to make any sense.

Basically Corey wasn't happy with the steering on his TTB YJ, and was gonna cut it all off and start over. He decided to do a mini contest in his build thread that whoever came up with the best idea for the redesign would get the co-driver spot for next year's race.

Good thing I've been thinkin of my own TTB setup for a while now. :D

ehhhhh worth it? idk if i should be spending prob ~1100 now (cost+shipping that d300 + the 4:1) when i can spend a LOT less for the 231 sye and be running and driving.'

and, ver nice
Why not just get the D300 as it is and toss it in? It's still an awesome setup even without the 4:1.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
I feel like I'm at the point where the battery isn't quite dead, but it still doesn't have enough oomph to index to the next second.

say 550 shipped, plus the 50 for the plate plus, then another 50-100 for a lengthened and balenced XJ front shaft.. i'm close to 700 deep into a case that i really dont need.. if it had 4:1 for that price yea its worth it, but i dont need the twinstick or the added strength over a 231 with a HD sye

I'm reading the whole thread. I figure I can learn quite a bit from him, not just the TTB full hydro setup.

Has Colin's driveshaft banter taught you nothing? :twak:

And I'm sure you and Chris are smart enough to make an adapter plate yourselves. I know I'd never buy one.

Then just do the 231 with an SYE and you're only in it for $200.

Not like you're going to blow it up.

In Anthony's case the clock is digital and therefore... well you get my drift.
Hilarious.

I just wanted you to bring me free beer. :wave1:

Who has what for an engine hoist? I know Ken has the 2 ton HF one and it seemed to do alright, but I wasn't totally sold on it. Is there another one I should consider?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Did I miss something...?
He was adding up the price of what his D300 setup would cost, including driveshafts. I was pointing out that we've been discussing home-brew driveshafts a lot lately.

I've used an engine hoist once in my entire build.

To hoist an engine.

Then I was done with it.

Just borrow someone's.
