Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I had hormel hot chili in a bowl, mixed in some taco cheese, and ate it with tortialla chips.

I had venison chili today. I totally win. It was a positively exquisite batch :lickout:

I'm looking around a picture of how that stupid little e-brake actuation lever is supposed to look, and I just found this on an explorer website. :scared:

As well as a ton of pictures of stock explorers driving over dirt roads, making it seem like an epic expedition.

Getting a shorter bolt would just be too safe...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Finally got my tail light shit show sorted out. Now I can finish welding my bumper ends on and can call it good for a little while.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wednesday night cards = awesome.
I just got a text from a college friend of mine in the chemical engineering business... he does really fancy expensive stainless steel piping these days. One of his competitors just went out of business and he is on the list to put offers on their welding and machining equipment, I'm getting the list of what's up for grabs tomorrow - free delivery (or at least free delivery to my place.) I'll post the list here if anyone wants in.
I need details, but I could (and shouldn't) be interested.
Everyone I race/wheel with who has the ability to do that has swapped the fixed thing to the front and the selectable thing to the rear after finding out the truth.

:D

Know what's even more badass? Locked front, ARB rear (open), cutting brakes. Lock the inside rear tire and 3-wheel dig around stuff. At speed, even. I went for a ride in Lou Levy's race bronco set up this way and almost crapped my pants 3 times.
So someone buy me a selectable rear locker already.

I got this txt and almost drove to your house.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

With the 30 year shingles, it wont be so bad. Setting trusses tomorrow, and roofing friday, 18 square, its going to be fun.
I mentioned the shingles to my dad today, he said if you go with 50 year shingles, expect to wait until spring to put them on

Yeah... that would suck. I'm stressing over the weather forecast enough as it is.

Everyone who said yes - will definitely post it.

Bought and unloaded an entire pallet of 30 year timbertex natural shadow shakewood shingles today. Only took about 20min to unload them all and stack them in the yard covered in poly sheeting, need to find a heater and move them inside. Friday if I have the m54a2 done, I'm going to go pick up the remaining 30 bundles I need.

It looks like it is going to snow Sunday so I may well end up covering everything in poly again and hoping for the best :smsoap:

you would've been dissapointed; I was at work :laugh3: Besides, it was a slightly early b-day gift from my friend's mom, so I wouldn't have given it up easily :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The 30 year shingles will be fine. Straight runs don't matter warm or cold, and if you have the shingles somewhat warm, the valleys wont be too bad either, just bring out warm shingles as you need them.
An please tell me you put 30 bundles in the MJ

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hahahahahahahahah I wish!

Nope, full 36 bundle pallet in the back of a home depot truck. It weighed 3000lbs, about twice what the mj is rated for. The turdy5 hates me enough already and the rear leafs are sagged to hell.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It is interesting, I found better pictures of how the e-brake actuator lever of a Ford Explorer's axle is supposed to be orientated on :NAXJA:, than I did on a website dedicated to Ford Explorers.

Either way, Jeep is back on the ground, and e-brakes work, hell ya. Just have to adjust them slightly tomorrow, and I'm good to go.

Wednesday night cards = awesome.

What's your game?

And as a side topic for further discussion in the morning, any blackjack enthusiasts here?

I'm in the same boat. :( These axles are staying just the way they are though.

Got the front axle all back together tonight, including a major clustershit on the driver side. Right now it's assembled...but that's the side with the slightly twisted stub shaft, and now it has a crossthreaded spindle and two different style spindle nuts on it. It'll all be replaced before the first race but for now, it's gonna need an impact gun to get those spindle nuts off. Thing's pretty well screwed.

Didn't have the metal I needed to do the new hydro-assist clamp, so the old one is back on again. That's easy enough to swap out once I get the right stuff though.

Doing the shocks tomorrow, and everything should be ready to go by Friday evening for the snow. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I put about 25 bundles in my ranger, and it hated life, 5 more would have killed it for sure

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just got home. Got a good start on the sub box. Not gonna get to work on it again till monday. The plan is for it to be ready to drop in, sealed, carpeted, amps, xo & eq mounted and all. Next weekend will be dedicated to installation which mostly will involve running wires and taking the factory crap out. Bed time foh now.
