THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I WANT A 220 WELDER!!! WAHHHHHHH :bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl:
Stick welders are cheap :eyes:

I want a lot of things. Getting the jeep going is a big one in my book right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ross, any 27 spline stuff for that 8.25? I don't know if I need it yet, need to pop the cover on mine and figure out if it's 29 or 27... then weld it... I decided I wouldn't wheel it welded till I have spare shafts.

Got the one outta red jeep sitting there, complete minus shock brackets. its a 95 so it should be 27 spline stuff.

and if I fishtail I take up the whole road.

I dont even wanna imagine what the dirtymax would look like fishtailing.

I want a lot of things. Getting the jeep going is like last in my book right now.

:D

I mean c'mon, that one was a giving, you had to see a type of edit like that coming.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i just got the ballistic fab kiss of death :banghead:

Your Order is on hold due to a temporary back order. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will be shipping your order as soon as the parts are available. Thank you for your business and patience.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

All you have to do is leave enough room to get a c-clip in there and make sure the cross pin isn't welded to anything.

Other than that, close your eyes and pull the trigger.

Exactly my plan. Side gears and spider gears to the carrier, gears to gears, gears to other gears, bearings to housing, bearings to carrier, carrier to housing, pinion to ring gear, etc. I need to buy a lot more welding wire and I might have to just start shoving bits of scrapmetal and beer cans into the housing if I want to fill it all properly. Not sure if I'll fill the axle tubes at this point.

(really though, I am gonna cover the ring gear and block things off so spatter won't hit the pinion and bearings, tack everything together, pull the cross shaft and shafts, jam aluminum foil in the openings so nothing can stick in bad spots, then weld all the spider/side gears together and to the carrier. I would pull the carrier and simply cover the ring gear and bearings, but I don't feel like messing with the side adjusters to get it back how it was.)

Got the one outta red jeep sitting there, complete minus shock brackets. its a 95 so it should be 27 spline stuff.
I might need the shafts. We'll see.

Billy, they "are implementing changes" and "have changed" so that shouldn't happen. Confident?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just rocked out in the slippy conditions out there. its pretty hairy, its only a dusting but its wicked slick. Full time kicks ass, behind the 5spd you can really feel the power distribution to the fornt and rear axles. Just the right amount of throttle pressure and it really hooks up nicely and pulls even. Too much and the rear starts to kick up and when you left off the gas to correct, you can feel the front end react. Takes some getting use to to control it, but its still alot nicer the 2WD. Once I get some nice 31" AT's on there, Ill be really happy. I gotta find some tires now, the old stocker goodyears are only gunna get me so far.

So should you have.

And why else would I be buying parts if I wanted it to sit forever? It's not like I tell everyone about it every time I do some work out there.

Thats not a bad thing. When I called and order all my stuff for the 3 link, the QA1 rod ends I wanted for the trackbar were outta stock. The dude asked if I wanted to substitute Midwest ones in or wait. I wanted QA1's, two weeks later my order shipped out, 3rd week I got everything I wanted and was happy.

I might need the shafts. We'll see.

Comes with a complete axle free of charge too!!! ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why do ya'll want snow on the roads? I want snow in my backyard and on the trails. I couldn't care less if it missed all the roads it just means my truck stays cleaner and I don't have to put up with people forgetting how to drive.
Because I need the plowing money

in that case... how much do you want for one of the lug studs and the cross shaft? :D

hopefully it isn't completely unreasonably cold and unpleasant outside.

You wouldn't happen to have a piece of 1/4" plate hanging around that's big enough to make an 8.25 cover bolt ring out of would you? I thought I did, but my flat stock isn't quite wide enough. If you don't have one you'd part with I can just hit sullivan metals tomorrow and see what's in the drop stack.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'd say if thats what it takes but you might hold me to it. :D

Eh.

So no sealed in cab right? You'll have pretty much nothing left so I'd hack it all the way to the firewall or start from scratch. Working with constraints like the body to me is only "fun" if it is going to be worthwhile in the end for reasons like still sorta looking like a Jeep product or enclosed.
Those aren't any jelly donut, those are raspberry creme. You posted my 2nd favorite.
if id ditch anything in a cherokee it be the firewall, its the heaviest part, int part of havung a buggy is the wieght savings?
